5.0 out of 5 stars This book is a must have for anyone interested in beading., July 17, 2008

(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Easy Beading Vol. 3 (Hardcover)
When I first looked at this book, I was thinking of returning it. After reading it in depth I definitely decided it was a keeper. I am just getting into beading. It begins by showing the different kinds of beads and giving the names. In the past when I tried to read a book on beading and saw the bead descriptions I didn't know what they were talking about. I thought what on earth is a potato bead and so on. Thanks to this book I now know. It goes on to identify all the tools and some of the findings and stringing material. A more experienced beader may think that they weren't interested in wasting time on that. However, they don't devote a lot of space to it, just the first few pages. There is a section showing how to form your own hoops and wire bracelets. The book has a wide variety of styles. Even the more advanced beader may not have thought of making a bracelet out of hardware store washers. The projects are varied and uses a variety of materials. The explanations are clear and thorough and the pictures are fantastic. Many of the projects tell you where the beads come from in case you want to create an exact duplication. One thing I really like is that there are a lot of earrings and bracelets and not just necklaces. Those necklaces could get quite expensive. The thing that bothered me the most is that some of the projects would be awfully expensive. A more advanced beader may be able to make some substitutions. However, it's hard to economize on a project that requires a couple of hundred crystals. Nevertheless, the book has so many merits that it's easy for me to overlook these faults and proceed to something else.
