Easy Brush, for large size dogs

I purchased the large size EasyBrush for our 14 year old Golden Retriever. Within about 1 1/2 minutes of giving it to her, she had extracted the brush part from the rubber holder and cracked the hard plastic backing. I managed to get it from her before she swallowed the splintered plastic, which could have caused serious damage.

I strongly advise against using this product.

My dog had serious breath issues and this item was recommended by my veterinarian. Purchased it from Amazon for a very good price as opposed to the local pet store. So far, so good. The dog seems to enjoy chewing on it and I can definitely see and smell the difference in his breath and teeth. Highly recommended!

This is a great concept which is very poorly executed. I just posted a picture of what this brush looks like after my lab spent less than five minutes with the brush, used as directed. If Kong can make "chew proof" black rubber chew toys it seems to me this company could do better! Do not waste your money if your dog is large and has strong teeth!

This is a review of the same product at a much better price. The $45+ price here is not at all reasonable for a disposable item.

I wanted to brush my dog's teeth for the sake of his health, but I could not get him to cooperate with regular dog toothbrushes. That's why I tried easy brush. I watch him for the entire Easy Brush chewing period, which is 2 minutes, and I am ready to take it if it looks like he is biting it too hard. I only let him chew for 2 minutes. My dog is so happy and excited when he sees the Easy Brush and is very sad when I have to take it after the 2-minute limit. The Easy Brush is helping my dog clean his teeth at the gum line-- it's evident by a little bit of blood on the brush after chewing--similar to what I saw on my own toothbrush years ago when I didn't floss. I invest in annual teeth cleanings for my dog, but even those cleanings cannot help receding or diseased gums. That is why I think Easy Brush is an important product.

I purchased my Easy Brush from another online vendor, and the price was much, much lower. I had to buy dog-toothpaste separately; dogs cannot use human toothpaste because the chemicals are not meant to be ingested. I expect to have to replace the brush about once a month, however, because it is not durable enough to last much longer. Given the health problems associated with gum disease, it is well worth the money each month. These brushes are much more cost-effecive than Pedigree Denta Stix Medium & Large Dogs 7 Sticks 180g, which my dog literally swallows in 5 seconds after taking two bites. I cannot afford Greenies Dental Chews for Dogs, Large, Pack of 17, and when I give him Milk Bones or his favorite milk-bone-like Nutri-Vet Breath & Tartar Spearmint & Parsley Flavored Biscuits, 19.5 Ounce Bag, the time he spends chewing one is no more than 20 seconds--not enough time or the right mechanism to clean my dog's teeth and gums as well as 2 minutes with Easy Brush.

My dog weighs 52 pounds and is a somewhat aggressive chewer who is too rough for stuffed toys. However, he can play with the red KONG Classic Kong Dog Toy, Large, Redand doesn't need the black KONG Extreme Dog Toy, Large, Black. I can see how a bigger, stronger dog could demolish the Easy Brush quickly, as some other reviewers have written and shown with photos. I would rate this product 5 stars if it was made of a more durable material. If your dog needs the black Kong or if your dog has ever ingested a piece of a chew toy, I do not recommend Easy Brush at all. If your dog is food aggressive or fights you when you try to take a raw-hide or food-containing toy away, you can only use Easy Brush if you know you can out-power your dog and wrestle it away from your dog after 2 minutes of chewing. For less aggressive chewers who wont let you brush their teeth, I recommend at least giving Easy Brush a try.
