Nearly two years after their huge 1992 smash single "Live And Learn," hit the top ten (on the pop charts) Joe Public was back with 1994's Easy Come, Easy Go, but the times had clearly changed since 92; New Jack Swing was no longer existent to mainstream audience, and the R&B world was ruled by groups like Boyz II Men and Jodeci. They got highly respected mixer Michael Brauer who has worked with A-Ha, Regina Belle, Tevin Campbell, Terrence Trent D'Arby, Luther Vandross, and many other artists of many different genres, but it was clear that the public had forgotten Joe Public and the album tanked (No. 81 on R&B Charts) making Joe Public yesterdays news and never attempting to make a third album effort. In 1999 Sony Music released a Greatest Hits CD titled Live And Learn, which contains most their big hits from their self-titled debut.

This was a desperate attempt 2 repeat live& learn. You really can't blame them though(Why fix, if it's not broken?).The fact of the matter is every group or singer makes an album that tanks. In the early years you were given a chance 2 get over the hump, but in these times one bad album usually means you get dropped.I guess that's what happened 2 these guys and it's a shame because these guys actually sang and played their own instruments something you hardly ever see these days.Respect 2 Joe Public aka "Atension".

Joe Public is a new jack swing group from Buffalo, New York. It consisted of lead singer and bass guitarist Kevin Scott, keyboardist and guitarist Jake Carter, percussionist and drummer Dwight "Mr. Dew" Wyatt and lead guitarist Joe "J.R." Sayles. They are best known for their hit single "Live and Learn," which reached #4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1992.

Joe Public evolved from the group Atension, signed to Island Records in 1989. They released their debut album Joe Public on Columbia Records, which contained their hit single "Live and Learn", which became their only top forty hit, peaking at #4 on the Billboard Hot 100. Their follow-up single, "I Miss You" reached #55 on the same chart.

They hosted the "NBA Jams Music Video," a VHS promotional release for the video game NBA Jam that contained music videos intercut with professional basketball highlight footage. The video for "Live and Learn" is contained on it, as well as improvised live footage between video segments.

They later released their second studio album Easy Come, Easy Go in 1994, also under Columbia Records.

They continue to act as songwriters, writing the song "Keep It Comin" by Keith Sweat in 1991 and also writing songs for Tyrese.
