5.0 out of 5 stars One of my favourite books
My sisters and I discovered this book years ago and loved it. One of my sisters virtually knows it off by heart! The chemistry between Cathy, Dev and Chris just jumps off the page, it gave me shivers. I have never read a book that deals with rape in this way. Liz Berry has managed to portray the people and surroundings in the book so vividly, I feel that I can see...

1.0 out of 5 stars Sick
I almost never write bad reviews of books -- if I don't like them, I don't review them -- but I have to make an exception here, especially after reading all these glowing reviews. This is one of the sickest books I have ever read. The male main character is an obnoxious, evil (but gorgeous) rock star who, in Chapter Two (so I'm not really giving away anything), RAPES the...

My sisters and I discovered this book years ago and loved it. One of my sisters virtually knows it off by heart! The chemistry between Cathy, Dev and Chris just jumps off the page, it gave me shivers. I have never read a book that deals with rape in this way. Liz Berry has managed to portray the people and surroundings in the book so vividly, I feel that I can see the characters and even Cathy's paintings! I only recently discovered that there is a sequel. I haven't seen it anywhere but intend to hunt it down. I am lucky that I found a copy of Easy Connections on a library discard shelf.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best books ever written!, January 15, 2001

From the moment I read this book I was hooked. There is something so compelling about Cathy and Dev's story. The hard reality of rape is dealt with accurately but despite this the underlining love story grips you. I've been lucky in that I have managed to purchase all of Liz Berry's books and though Mel and the China Garden are good in their own right, nothing compares to Easy Connections and its equally wonderful sequel Easy Freedom. If you get the chance to read this book, you will never forget it. Liz Berry writes with such vividness that you can almost smell the paint and hear the rock music.

5.0 out of 5 stars I can't believe it!, February 10, 2000

I can't believe that so many people from around the world have read and enjoyed this book. I read it about 10 years ago at school and found the mix down to earth characters and heady rock-and-roll lifestyle fantastic. I also read the sequel, and found it be of the same excellent standard. However, my favourite Liz Berry book has to be Mel. It is just a shame that they all seem to be out of print. These are books that I think every new generation should read.

I know fans of this book and it's sequel, Easy Freedom, have been searching high and low for replacement copies so I just wanted to let everyone know that before they pay the outrageous prices for which the books are currently being offered, be advised that Liz Berry is arranging for the books to be re-published in paperback very shortly. (...)

Alas, we won't have to wait much longer to own copies of these fantastic stories!

5.0 out of 5 stars On a worldwide search for this book and it's sequel, August 14, 1999

I found this book by accident. it was the first thing i grabbed off the library shelf just before closing time... It was amazing. I sat in my room until i finished it and couldn't have put it down if i wanted to. But after i'd returned it <and had read the sequel and Mel> i couldn't find it again. I grew up with the rock'n'roll lifestyle whirling round me and studied art at school for four years, it was incredible to find a book that combined all these things from my life with the dark obsessions of love and lust and control. I've never forgotten it and continue my search till I own copies of these wonderful stories.

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy Connections is my favourite book., April 26, 1998
By A Customer

Liz Berry gives the reader an insight into the amazing world of rock and roll. She allows the reader to go into another world, one that is misunderstood, and often greatly exaggerated. She shows us what can happen when things get out of control. The characters are real and solid. They are to be admired for their uniqueness and Berry herself is to be congratulated on her astonishing and real account of a terrible, terribleinstance. I believe that this book should be a mandatory reading for students across the globe. Berry's courage to write such an accurate account of rape, love, hate and music makes her one of the most talented writers of the 20th century. Read it, and you'll see what I mean.

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy Connections, May 14, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Easy Connections (Hardcover)
In Easy Connections we follow the journey of painter Cathy Harlow: 17, ravishing, precociously talented and hounded by her uber-glamorous rockstar stalker Dev. The ambiguity of Cathy's attraction to Led Zeplin-esque, gorgeous Dev and her clausterophic repulsion genuinely mesmerised me. I read (and re-read) EC as a teenager until my copy fell apart. If anyone has any sway with Berry's publishers use it to get this and Easy Freedom reprinted!

The book "Easy Connections" is definitely unforgetable and I am very glad I own a copy along with two of her others! Having first read the book when I was 13 (I'm 19 now), I still re-read it once a year. I've been trying to locate a copy of "Easy Freedom" for perhaps two years now off and on, but I still have had no luck. I think its strange that I cannot find a copy of it anywhere. I guess those who actually own it probably will never sell it--I know I wouldn't!

Like a lot of people - I read this book back in school. I was lucky enough to find a copy of it for sale, in a K-mart bargin bin a few years back now. It is the best book I have ever read and just recently got my hands on it's sequel, Easy Freedom, another book I couldn't put down till finished.

5.0 out of 5 stars Possibly the best book have ever read., October 22, 2001
By
This review is from: Easy Connections (Hardcover)
I like many others first read this when I was about 12. And the book has stayed with me ever since. The story is so real. One half of you wants Cathy to escape and the other half wants the happy ever after? ending that we get. I have heard that there is a sequel & I have been trying to get hold of it deperately (Easy Freedom).I would LOVE to read this book as I am so intrigued as to how Cathy & Dev get on while married. Even if somebody is willing to LEND it to me I would be truely grateful. If you want a brilliant read Easy Connections is the only book......
