Easy Cross-Stitch 2007 Calendar

The 2007 calendar features a new pattern for every weekday, with a color key on the Saturday/Sunday page. When I bought this, I thought the patterns would be quick projects, but every pattern comes out to be 5x5 inches or 5x7 inches, with every inch stitched, including extensive color backgrounds that I find tedious to stitch. The patterns are traditional cross-stitch patterns, with many holiday-themed ones on the appropriate days, but none are quick, small projects.

The first version of this calendar I believe it was 2004 didn't have a color key for each pattern. They changed it for the following year. The patterns are really cute. Even if I never get a chance to do them, it is fun to look at the different ones and dream about doing them someday.

I have been buying this calendar for 3 years now. I keep it on my desk at work. It is attractive and has a place I can jot reminder notes on. Very handy.

This is great for little ideas. I already used a couple of designs and created a collage for my daughters room...

I bought 7 of these as gifts for the year 2005 and was EXTREMELY disappointed. While there are plenty of little patterns, many rather cute, not a single one had a color key! So, if you want to do one of these babies, first you have to sit down with a color card (mine is DMC) and figure out what 2 shades of blue to use, and do they go with all the other colors you also have to pick out?

These are the kind of small patterns you want to pick up to use on towels, accessories, waste canvas onto clothes, etc. Not stuff you want to have to spend a whole bunch of time on just choosing the colors, before you can get your materials together and start stitching.

If I had been able to look into the box at this product before I bought it (I got it through a catalogue), I would have kept on shopping. It is a nice idea, but because they skimp on space and don't bother to print a key for the charts, they are pretty much useless for quick and easy cross stitch projects.

Don't waste your money on this one.

Fun to reveal a new project each day. I can hardly wait to start - the problem is just picking which is my favorite. Added bonus - I now know the day and date!
