Easy DVD Copy 4 Premier

I have Roxio Cd Dvd Creator 6 on my HP laptop. Roxio no longer provides updates on this old version. So, I decided to get DVD Creator 4. Big Mistake for two reasons:
1- The Creator 6 and DVD Copy 4 cause major conflicts since they share some files. DVD Copy 4 won't even open if the creator 6 is already on the computer. It keeps crashing.
2- If you uninstall The Creator 6, and uninstall and reinstall dvd Copy 4, there are still problems. when you try to copy store purchased dvd's, the software tells you it is copy protected and it won't let you do it. (That's not true, I managed to make copies with The Creator 6).

If you uninstall DVD Copy 4 and reinstall The Creator 6, The Creator 6 tells you your recorder is not there!.

I ended up using System restore within Windows XP to eliminate this problem. Now, I am able to make copies with The Creator 6 at slow speed. It takes about 40 minutes since I don't use the fastest speed to rip the dvd data.

So, Be Aware this problem. I was hoping to make copies faster.

One more issue:
Roxio's customer service does not exist! No free phone number, no instant chat, just e-mail. I was entering W instead of VV for THe key. I couldn't installed the software, and try to reach Cust. Service. Then, I figured it out myself. Why would they use VV for the key? It looks just like W.

Update: Clean installation. The software assumes every store purchased dvd is protected, and wont copy it. So, use free encrypter software (DVD Fab6 or DVD Decrypter) and make a copy on your hard drive, then launch Roxio easy dvd copy 4 and burn the movie on a blank disk. Maxell and TDK +R's work for me.

I purchased this item hoping to use it to download my DVDs to my Zen Vision and my daughter's Zune. What I didn't know (it's in fine print on the package) is that it will not copy encrypted or copy protected content. I could understand this if you were trying to make illegal copies of the DVD, but to limit you from downloading it to your video player is nuts. I also found the instructions poorly written and the software itself was not intuitive. I would not purchase this item!

For heaven's sake people! There is not a single program I have seen that will copy encrypted DVDs! That is the whole point of them being encrypted!!! There is a way around it as one is legally entitled to copy movies he/she owns for his own private use (for example on an iPod). Before you use the Roxio Easy DVD Copy or any other program to copy/convert your DVD you must decode them with another program, there is a few of them for download on the web. We use shrink DVD, but it does take a while, there may be a quicker program out there. Find one you like.

I used an earlier version at work and I liked it. I read a lot of bad reviews about this product before I bought it and decided to buy it anyway despite the bad press. I'm glad I did.

Some thought it was hard to install and doesn't work well with Vista. I didn't have time to install it so my sister did. The installation must be simple because she has almost no computer skills. If she was able to do it, anybody can. So far, no problems with Vista.

This product lives up to its name. It's very easy to use. I only have one DVD drive and can make multiple copies without starting over. That's a nice feature. Overall, I am very happy with this product.

I wanted a simple, easy to use, DVD compilation software and Roxio DVD copy 4 Premier is it!! First of all, PEOPLE please you cannot copy encrypted DVDs and if you would read the little pop up that comes up when you start the program and click on COPY AND CONVERT button, you will see the warning that Roxio DOES NOT COPY COPYRIGHT PROTECTED DVDS!!! Learn to read people!! This is by far the simplest program that I have used for making DVD compilations! and YES you can still make compilations of copyright protected DVDs that you own, but you first have to use DVD DECRYPTER and copy the movies to your hard drive after they have been decrypted. By the way, DVD Decrypter is FREE!! I like to make DVD compilation movies of different short films that I have purchased, and I use Roxio DVD Copy 4 Premier to do just that. I do not like all the title and chapter pages that other software uses. With Roxio I make just a menu page with buttons to select the individual movies. Simply, Sweet and Easy!

Easy DVD Copy 4 Premier

I purchased this software from another company.It never worked at all.I tried it several times with no success.I tried deleting it.My Pc hangs up and I have to reboot it..Once you download it you can't get a refund.I sent an email to express how unhappy I was.

What I wanted to do: make multiple copies of a DVD containing old family Super 8 movies

What happened: the program installed easily, deleting some freebies along the way, all by itself. The instruction book isn't bad, but I felt like there was a distinct gap between part 1: copying the source DVD, and part 2: burning the new DVDs. I was able to reason it out myself, though, and I ended up saving the video file onto the hard drive and burning that as many times as I wanted.

I'm subtracting a star for this perceived gap, especially since this set really doesn't do much else besides copying and changing formats.

An interesting side effect has occurred, though; these ancient pictures need a bit of tagging with names, etc. in the form of subtitles. If anybody can suggest a way to do this that'll work with this program (and not cost pounds of flesh), I'd LOVE to hear it!! I SURE hope the video bug didn't bite me!! :D

I haven't even had this product for 24 hours and I hate it!!! First of all I can't burn my videos onto a DVD because I keep getting a Error message and to top it off Roxio doesn't have Free Tech Support! They wanted me to pay 28 bucks for 15 mins to get this thing working. I mean WHAT software company doesn't have FREE Tech support?! I am not computer savy at all and at times I need to call for some help but to charge on top of the 6o bucks I shelled out for this product! They also don't have a customer line to call for refunds.. everything is done by e mail... Not my kinda of company! AVOID THIS COMPANY! Now lets see if they refund my money!

This software is absolutely a piece of trash. The directions are horrid and make little sense. Please do yourself a favor and stay away from this half-baked software. Also, if you are planning on copying a DVD that you own it will not allow you to (isn't this the reason why most people buy this program?).
