5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful uplifting read
I picked this one up on a run to Fiji, regain my sanity jaunt, expecting the usual saccarine heroine and life saving romance. Instead this book was so honest and uplifting and laugh out loud funny , an absolute joy!

2.0 out of 5 stars Funny, but shallow
I love a good chick lit book--I'm on a first name basis with Bridget, Jemima and Becky, but the nameless chick of Easy is someone I wouldn't want to be around. The book is funny, but the character spends the entire book talking about sex and pot. Her constant approach to finding a man based on the size of his package is funny at first, but sad and pathetic in the end...

5.0 out of 5 stars Outrageously Witty and All Too Real, January 8, 2002
By
This review is from: Easy (Paperback)
I picked up my copy of 'Easy' in a discount bookstore in Edinburgh in October, and am now disappointed for other readers that it is out of print! Gold's decidedly autobiographical tale of her journey to find 'the one' is both incredibly hillarious and at times painfully tragic; there is drama-a-plenty in this woman's life to be certain! I laughed out loud until I had tears in my eyes on several ocassions. At the onset I felt the book might be entertaining but lack substance...I was wrong...although it does become repetitive at times. This is a story better left untold in terms of its lessons...better that you simply make the journey yourself with her. And if, like myself, you've learned these lessons already you will nonetheless be well entertained!

The book is funny, but the character spends the entire book talking about sex and pot. Her constant approach to finding a man based on the size of his package is funny at first, but sad and pathetic in the end. I felt like there wasn't really a whole lot of plot to pull me into this self-absorbed, sexually promiscuous and chemically altered world.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hilarious!, December 19, 2003
This review is from: Easy (Mass Market Paperback)
Great light hearted read for the single 20 something women! While the main charicator is a bit shallow, her comfortableness with this fact is funny as well as her motivation to get what she wants out of life as long as she enjoys it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Vacation Read, May 10, 2004
This review is from: Easy (Mass Market Paperback)
I usually read science fiction, but wanted something else to read on my cruise. So I picked up Emma Gold's books "Easy" and "Hard." I loved them. They are the perfect books to read when you don't want anything to bother you and when you want to live in someone elses world.

5.0 out of 5 stars outrageous satirical chick lit, April 13, 2003
This review is from: Easy (Mass Market Paperback)
Though she desperately wants a permanent man in her life to avoid the stigmatism of spinster, Moi has high standards. Her previous relationships can be categorized as failures, losers, or some combo much worse. None of these so-called chick magnets measured up to Moi's simple six rules though she admits some did attain a few of her criteria.

Still, in spite a failure rate that would send most heterosexual females into shock therapy or abstinence the optimistic Moi keeps searching like some energized bunny. Is her latest date the one with the right dual head construction or another dud? Come ye faithful and enter Moi's bedroom so she can expose the feminine mystique to her sisters and bare the shortcomings of that pathetic other gender.

This novel is easily an outrageous satirical chick lit tale that exposes the female strategic and battle plans in the devastating war of the sexes. The leave no male prisoner untested story line never turns serious so that readers will laugh a lot while saying Moi I am. Not for everyone as there is plenty of profanity; but what can one expect from a bedroom philosopher and legal giantess who insists size matters and a valid manslaughter defense by a woman should include death due to premature ejaculation. EASY takes the gold when it comes to ironic humor that masticates the genders.

3.0 out of 5 stars Difficult to Follow, January 3, 2006
By
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Easy (Mass Market Paperback)
This book is about the difficulties and ups and downs of finding the perfect man. Man after man and relationship after relationship, this book is sometimes hard to follow. The narrator goes from story to story both in the past and present and it's hard to figure a place on timeline of her life you're reading about. She bounces between stories of the men in her life and refers to different events. It's an entertaining book but nothing to really get into, there's no real plot other than stories of relationships gone wrong. The end of the book wraps up with a happy ending in all of a paragraph and a half.

1.0 out of 5 stars Awful, July 11, 2005
This review is from: Easy (Mass Market Paperback)
I struggled to read Easy last summer and I hated it. The main character just seemed too desperate and I didn't like her at all.Comparing this book to Jemima J and Bridget Jones is completely wrong because Jemima J and Bridget Jones were both likeable, funny characters and Easy had none of that. I recommend that you skip this book and read a Sophie Kinsella, Jane Green, or Helen Fielding book instead.

1.0 out of 5 stars Pure and utter dreck, May 20, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Easy (Mass Market Paperback)
Don't waste your hard-earned money. The nameless heroine is so unsympathetic that I found myself rooting for her hapless victims in their pathetic bids to escape. The storyline struck me as preposterous and I feel I got suckered into buying this book by the jacket comparisons to Bridget and Jemima (both of which I loved). If you simply must read it, check it out at the library.
