An excellent sequel for the true romantics in us all!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Easy Freedom (Hardcover)
I have wanted to read this book for over ten years, and it was worth the wait. Picking up where Easy Connections left off, the book builds on the complex relationship between Cathy, Dev and Chris. It explores Cathy's continued battle to come to terms with her obsession for Dev, her feelings for their child and her career as an artist. The characters were developed to a greater extent throughout the book, and I found it easier to understand the motivations behind each of them. The sequel flows on very well in style and substance from Easy Connection, but it did leave me wanting more. After twelve years, will Liz Berry return for the third instalment?

An unforgettable great read!,

Please, please, please reprint this book! I have a copy of "Easy Connections" which I was lucky enough to find at a second hand shop and ever since then I have been obsessed with all of Liz Berry's books. They are just so "real" and obsessive as well as romantic. "Easy Freedom" is such a perfect sequel and I really would love to read more of this compelling relationship (hint, hint)! Liz Berry has a unique way of just pulling you into the story so that I feel like Dev, Chris and Cathy are a part of my life. I just couldn't put it down the minute I found it at the library and have continued to re-borrow and re-read it many times in the past few years until my local library unfortunately lost it as well as all her other books. Coincidence? I don't think so! I would really really really like to purchase a copy of this book since I can no longer even borrow it at the library!

Thoughts on Easy Freedom,
By A Customer
This review is from: Easy Freedom (Hardcover)
Thanks to a helpful person, I have finally been able to read this book and it has proved to be as compelling as Easy Connections. Although the story is much darker than the first one (which I feel is rightly so), the characters are further developed and their motivations are shown more vividly. There are some unexpected surprises that kept me on the edge of my seat as well as returning characters from the previous book and a manipulative Chris who proceeds to ruin Dev and Cathy's unsteady relationship with his jealous tricks. Overall, it's an excellent read with a very welcomed conclusion (Cathy finally admits to Dev that she loves him!). Unfortunately, the ending is as elusive as the first and I am left with the impression that Liz Berry may have wanted to continue onward with a trilogy. Personally, I think that if there ever is another, it should be about Chris--it's time he finds a woman to love who will love him back!

Both this book and the first, Easy Connections , are a must for anyone who not only likes a good read, music, art, and love stories, but wants to be pulled into the lives of the characters completely. I first read these books 11 years ago when I was 16, and I still read them both today. I can't believe the publishers told Liz Berry their not interested in another Cathy/Dev/Chris story! I've read many books and have several favourite authors, but no books come close to touching me the way Easy Connections and Easy Freedom have, and for years I've wished there was a third story to come. I would LOVE to see another book, and maybe have the character of Chris finally find a love to equal Cathy. By the way, I couldn't ever find either of these books to buy at any bookstores, on or offline over all these years. I finally brought them off my local library, and paid a hefty price for them too, but well worth it! Not in the best condition, but at least I have them!

I read a library copy of this book 15 years ago and have been looking for it ever since - a superb sequel to Easy Connections (which I re-read regularly).

Quite literarily I could not put it down. I started reading it yesterday afternoon, and didn't go to bed until I had finished. Story twists and turns leaves you on the edge of you seat. A superb sequel to Easy Connections.

Easy Connections & Easy Freedom by Liz Berry,
By La "locket_uk" (England) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Easy Freedom (Hardcover)
Easy connections is a wonderful story about a Rock & Roll band (Easy Connections) and a budding young artist detailing how their lives unwittingly become entangled. The story is continued in the equally spell binding sequel Easy Freedom which sees the trio flourish against all odds. From the first page I was mesmerised, unable to stop until the last page had been read. I have spent many a happy day reading, re-reading and reading again the compelling story of Cathy, Dev and Chris. Anyone who has read either or both of the books will feel my loss when during re-location I discovered that both books, amongst other less valuable items, had been lost. I have searched for years to find replacements, but to no avail. Come on Liz, do us a favour and point your publishers in the direction of these pages... and let the rest of the world experience the magic that myself and countless others have been privy to. Get these books back in print! There are people out here who want to own these books.

I know fans of this book and it's prequel, Easy Connections, have been searching high and low for replacement copies so I just wanted to let everyone know that before they pay the outrageous prices for which the books are currently being offered, be advised that Liz Berry is arranging for the books to be re-published in paperback very shortly. Follow this link to the Liz Berry messageboard for further details from the author herself: http://lizberrybooks.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=44Alas, we won't have to wait much longer to own copies of these fantastic stories!

EASY CONNECTIONS and EASY FREEDOM,
By A Customer
This review is from: Easy Freedom (Hardcover)
My older sister borrowed this book from the library 14 years ago and never returned it! She was 16 and I was 15, from that day to this we have loved it and spent countless hours talking about it almost to the point of obsession. I still read it when ever I go to visit my sister, who unfortunately is now living in another country, so my rations are few and far between. I would love to get hold of a copy of this for myself, but also a copy each of Easy Freedom, which we both read many years ago too, but that one was returned to the library- more fool us! I never realised how many people felt the same until I started a web search and oh! my! god! there are loads of us out there! we must do something to get it back in print!
