...because it is good burlap. while my use for this role is a bit unconventional (it adds a layer of texture in paintings i make), it should be known what you get. the roll i received was exactly 36" and a little over 12'. while the ends were cut and, naturally, frayed, the edge is bound by a nylon thread, and a more dense thread count, to ensure the product doesn't unravel along the length. the warp and weft are between 9 and 10 threads per inch with the threads consistently just under 1/16", leaving a reasonably open weave.

these are things you cannot tell from the description of the product and, if you are a burlap enthusiast, you may need to know.

This product was hard for us to see in the picture offered. It's weave was not as tight as indicated in the picture.

This item got to me on the last day promised which is good. I got it to use for my costume and it took to the cheap dye i bought. I dyed it dark brown with NO problems! there's a lot so I have to think of some crafty things to make with the rest I didnt use :-) really nice quality. I'm surprised it's burlap it looks and feels more like jute which is a GOOD thing! :-) def buy it. best price on the web too

I was able to cover two new grape vines and two new rose bushes and that was about it. But that's was just enough for what I needed!
