This product performs just as advertised. I purchased the deer fencing in February but waited until June, our busy deer foraging season, to write a review. This product was very easy to install and, so far, has been effective in defending my vegetable garden against all intruders. I mounted it, with tie-wraps, to 10-foot rebar posts that were hammered 2 1/2 ft. in the ground. That left about 6 inches of netting to curve onto the ground. With a few U-shaped pins holding it in place, this seems to have curbed the rabbits and turtles, too. I will add more next season.

4.0 out of 5 stars Keeps the Deer Away, July 20, 2010

My family owns an eight acre forest in Western New York State. I had problems with deer eating my oak seedlings, so I purchased this product. I put it up this spring, and I came back for a visit in July. The oak trees are healthy and intact, and no deer have broken through the fence to devour them. The fence works great, and I would recommend it to anyone who's trying to grow young trees or other plants. One piece of advice I would give to would-be buyers: when you unwrap the fence from the package, lay it on a flat piece of ground and put heavy objects over it to flatten it out. Otherwise it bends out because of the way it's packaged. Also, when I bought it the product said it included 10 free fence posts, but it didn't come with fence posts and I had to buy them separately. Aside from that it's a great product, and it works the way it's supposed to.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works like a charm., February 13, 2011
This review is from: Easy Gardener LG40027110P X-Treme Deer Barrier 8-by-100-Foot Fencing (Lawn & Patio)
Bought this last year for my garden I was creating. Over last winter saw 13 deer in my yard daily. Neighbors told me that deer would still get in even with this fencing. Happy to say that my nine 8x10 raised beds were untouched and I was harvesting tomatoes into October. I used 3X4 landscape timbers as posts (cheapest posts to buy) spaced 12' apart and used 2 existing trees and put treated 4x4 posts either side of my doorway. By the way after digging the hole for the posts all you need to do is put the post in, make sure it is level and straight, add dry concrete mix and pack down with whatever you have available. I had a friend helping and he kept wanting to mix the concrete or add water after. That is unnecessary as the ground moisture will naturally set it on its own. Also dug 6 inches down and buried the bottom 6" of fencing to keep out smaller animals. One last note I would not unroll the fencing prior to install as it is easier to unroll as you go, just make sure you have 2 strong people pulling to stretch it out, it won't break.

After deer decimated my garden one too many times, I bought a roll of this netting and strung it up last fall. What a difference - haven't had a single problem with deer since. One caveat: If you have squirrels or rabbits that want to get in, they'll just chew through it. To prevent that, I put two-foot-tall vinyl-covered steel fencing along the bottom, which fixed the rodent problem. The price is great, too. Highly recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars Keeps the deer out, July 26, 2011

We are in a drought here in Texas and the only thing green in these parts is our garden. We installed this fencing right before planting and have had NO issues with keeping the deer out. We see footprints all around the garden - so it works! However, the plastic webbing is very thin and it has already split down one side where the wind has whipped it (granted, we've had a VERY windy year - ripped our barn roof off, so I guess I can't really complain). I would suggest doing what another reviewer stated - keeping several inches wrapped under the finished fence - we ran long rebar through ours at the bottom to keep little creatures out. Now we just need something to keep the birds from pecking our tomatoes!
