I installed this product on 180' of PEX water tubing under a beachfront house on piers in CT. It keeps the pipes warm even in sub-zero high wind conditions. You know its working in cold temperatures because the water will be warm (room temp)when you first open the faucet instead of ice cold. I did have to replace the two connection plug kits after hurricane Sandy as they are not waterproof and the water was right up to the floor boards of the house. I did insulate over the pipes and heat tape with the slit foam pipe insulation for added protection.

I used this to protect a customers pipes in the winter from freezing. It goes on easy and it can be wrapped over itself as can be seen on the picture of the box. You will have to purchase the outlet plug separately but they are not that costly. I also recommend getting a thermostat to control when the product turns on so that it is not running 24/7. My customer opted for the costlier thermostat made by Easy Heat product number SL-2G. This is not the plug thermostat. It has a built in GFCI and more control on the temperature settings. I did a lot of research on getting the best product for my customer and this was it.

I have been using Easy Heat's heat cable for over ten years. One of its best attributes is its ability to self regulate. It simply will not get too hot like a resistive heater will. 3 watts per foot is sufficient for most applications and the engineers at Easy Heat will help you if you're not sure. Most retailers and several other web sites sell the same product for between $3.50 and $4.50 per foot so at $1.22 it's a steal.

Arrived quickly and in good shape. I have used this to keep water lines from freezing and it all worked the first time! My lines had frozen the week before and I managed to get it installed before the next snow and it really is worth the money.

If you're looking for a way to keep a hose or pipe from freezing or just simply in need of keeping it warm, this is a perfect product. We are an injection foam installer and this product performs better than anything else we've ever used. Perfect foam everytime! THANK YOU for making this so easy to use and install!

I was able to wrap and overlap heat tape around pipe at 90 degree angles and faucets without burning heat tape out. Only remember you also have to buy the terminators and electric plugs to go with tape. Also have to buy a thermostat, I bought the yellow one. Worked great for me.

If you want trouble free installation, no frozen pipes in the winter, and the best product on the market, this is the heat tape for you! When they say Easy Heat, the name Say's it all. Not only is it easy to install it is fool proof. The self regulating feature is a solid plus! I highly recommend this product to anyone wanting to rest easy when winter hits and you do not want to fool with frozen pipes.

I live in Denver and we have 25 feet of uninsulated ex piping running in our basement. The temperature usually dips below zero 5-10 days a year and last year we had our pipes freeze and a connection to our bathroom sink pop off. Luckily I was home to minimize the mess but the need for pipe heaters was clear.

After procrastinating for 9 months or so I finally pulled the trigger on this product days before a sub-zero cold front hit. Installation is very straightforward and the interface with Easy heat 10802 plugs worked perfectly. Instead of the thermal plug which turns on the pipe heaters at 50 degrees, I opted for the Etekcity ZAP wireless remote to control the outlet manually.

I got everything installed the day the cold came in and the trial by fire went flawlessly. I left the product on for five days until temperatures climbed over 32 and had no issues with my pipes. This combo has proven to be a very economical way to solve a potentially expensive problem.
