Easy Indian Cookbook: The Step-by-Step Guide to Deliciously Easy Indian Food at Home
Learning to cook Indian food has been one of the more fun adventures I've set out on. This book has easy to follow recipies and lovely illustrations. I would recommend it. To add to the fun it comes with a CD of traditional Indian music which I played as back ground music for an Indian dinner party I gave shortly after receiving the book.

I love Indian food and I've been looking for a really good Indian cookbook to use at home. I found this book appealing because it does a really good job of outlining what the different spices are and what you should have in your pantry. The book also has very easy-to-follow instructions and the photos make the food look very appetizing. I was disappointed, however, after actually eating the food. I have made eleven recipes from this book and they were not only expensive (spices aren't cheap!) but time consuming as well, so when I was faced with a bland meal which no one was excited to eat, I was pretty downhearted. I think with a few tweaks, the recipes could be really good, but sadly, I'm not skilled enough in Indian cooking to know which tweaks are needed. I will say that the cardamom ice cream is delicious -- everyone was excited to eat that. I have recently invested in "Classic Indian Cooking" by Julie Sahni and so far, I find the recipes in that book to be much tastier.

I've never cooked Indian food without store-bought sauces so this was quite an adventure. I made the Chicken Tikka Masala, the Paneer with Peas, and the Buttery Potatoes with Spinach. It was all very good but the Chicken Tikka Masala was out of this world!!! I'm getting hungry just thinking about it...

I really liked this book and thought it had easy, step by step instructions on basic dishes. I like that each recipe has a picture with it so you know what your meal should actually look like. I am a visual learner, so this really helps for me.

I LOVE this cookbook! The recipes are great and easy to follow! The cookbook not only give recipes but explanations of the different spices and their flavors. Everything turns out extremely delicious!!! I am so glad I bought it and it was worth every cent and then some! If you are debating between this cookbook and one that is less expensive, definitely go with this one...you will not be disappointed!

These recipes are wonderful and easy to make. The final product comes out a bit different from the pictures, but they are still delicious.
