Not really. While the Kate Bush comparisons are inevitable (Jemma delivered a stunning performance on A Tribute To Kate Bush) this gal is a major talent in her own right.Easy is a very powerful debut album, containing many stunning songs, such as All That I Am (classic single material), Dandelion, Easy, Learning To Breathe and the breathtaking One For The Road. JP doesn't have to try to sound like Kate Bush, she simply does sound like Kate Bush, and to hear the Kate-like vocals over so many solid original songs, gives one a spine tingly feeling. Jemima Price is a welcome revelation, both as a superb songwriter and as the closest thing to Kate we've got. I just hope we don't have to wait five years between Jemima's albums. Please don't be put off by the people who wrongly criticized the Tribute album. This woman is genuinely gifted. |
