I saw this idea in a magazine was so excited to make a personal lamp for a gift. But the cord just hung down awkwardly and the whole thing was wobbly. I had high hopes and it was a bit of a disappointment.

Works well, and the cork/lamp fits most bottles, vodka or beer included. Keep in mind the smaller the bulb the better, particularly if you will not be using a lamp shade. I use mine as a bar lamp in a small vodka bottle, with a stained glass 25 watt bulb or 7 watt for softer lighting - no shade. The socket holds medium based bulbs - worth noting.

I was very excited to make lamps for Christmas gifts. The order arrived over a week ago, but I just now took a look at it and it came without the important cork! I will probably be able to makeshift something out of it, but items should arrive complete and I see that I'm not the first person to have experience this. Will never work with this company again!

This lamp kit is of great quality but did not fit the wine jug I wanted to use it for. The cork insert was just too small to fit the bottle opening. I am wondering if it would fit any wine jug opening perfectly as it is quite small. I did manage to use it by using some filler around the cork itself but would have preferred it the insert had fit without help.

It is a great idea; however, a base for the bottle is needed or it will all fall over. So far, I haven't been able to find one.

I am very happy because I was able to save two lamps i very much wanted to keep.
Happy am I that i could keep them both.

Item arrived very quickly and is exactly as it appears and is described. Just stick it in the top of a wine (or other) bottle, add a bulb and a shade, and you are ready to go.

I liked this product, but I have one suggestion. There should be adapters for the size of the bottle. I know it was made for a wine bottle, but I wanted to use it for a wine chiller. I used this product to make a couple of tequila bottle lamps (the tall, slender, blue bottles) and found this kit to be exactly what was needed for a quick, beautiful, functional weekend project. Would definitely recommend for anyone interested in making a set of unique, beautiful lamps.

I agree with the previous rating that the chord is a bit awkward. I had to drill a hole into the bottle and jimmy rig it so that the chord wasn't so cumbersome.
