Whoever identified this as for kids ages 4 to 10 must not have any experience with kids. It took me (a middle-aged mom with an advanced degree and great fine-motor skills) about two hours to put one together. I needed tiny, sharp scissors - a must to do this project right. It came out great and my kids (ages 9 and 10) enjoyed doing the last part of the project, but they would have been very frustrated trying to do the whole thing. GRADES 4 to 10 is more like it.

Fun, Fast, Easy Project,

This castle was easy to assemble, as advertised. The only real problem I came up against was that it does not come with any sort of base, though there is one shown in the cover illustration. I had to buy something separately since I had nothing useful on hand, but I had fun dressing up my base the way I liked. This castle is a very basic design but was a great project for me, since I'd never worked with paper models before.

My 9yo son needed a bit of help getting started, but once he got the well assembled, he got the idea and was able to finish it. It's a good, basic project to start with to learn paper assembly. I agree there is no way a 4yo could assemble it. My 13yo thought it looked fun, and now wants to try it-his brother wouldn't share!
The paper is card stock, so fairly sturdy.

This book would have been great if the crucial first page had not been cut out and missing which made the book useless to me because the missing page contained more castle pieces. The castle plan was easy to understand and looked like would have been easy to construct. I would recommend the book but definetly not the seller. I will not buy from this seller again.

I ordered this for my 10 year old son as a history project for 4th grade. It took about a week and a half to receive and looks like it will be something he can handle for his age. Plan to do more prjoects like this in the future. I am currently looking for a Jamestown model. I've seen pictures of one online but the website referred to no longer has it.
