1.0 out of 5 stars Too easy and superficial., December 27, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Easy Microsoft FrontPage 2000 (Paperback)
I wish somebody would have told me that this book is for beginners! It's a nice book, with nice pictures, and printed on fancy paper, designed for people with little computer knowledge. We all had to start somewhere, don't get me wrong, but if you are looking to get into the depths of Frontpage 2000, this book is not for you. For example, there is nothing that tells you how to work with frames (just two paragraphs in the Glossary section!) As I said, beginners will get what they paid for, everybody else will be left with disappointment.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent beginners guide with plenty of illustrations!, July 15, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Easy Microsoft FrontPage 2000 (Paperback)
The sheer range of features in professional web development packages like Microsoft FrontPage can be daunting to would-be webmasters. The manual that comes with the software is slim, and the majority of documentation consists of online help. What's a fellow to do?

Easy Microsoft FrontPage 2000 is the solution. Its aimed at absolute beginners, right through to casual part time web developers. Unlike most books (even the Dummies series), this book is packed full of illustrations right from Microsoft FrontPage 2000. Each page includes full color screenshots (many pages include up to three or four). This makes learning easy - no more deciphering cryptic commands and trying to see what they mean on the screen.

This book is the simplest, most accessible book on FrontPage 2000 that you will ever read. It contains step-by-step guides, accompanied by excellent screenshots and diagrams. Each page also includes little tips, which help to give you advice about extra features, and different techniques. It goes beyond simple web-editing - showing you how to submit your sites to search engines, how to use the advanced FrontPage components in your webs, and how to design professional sites. I'm very impressed with the quality, and ease-of-use of this title. For those learning web development, this is the ultimate guide to FrontPage 2000!

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Easy Microsoft FrontPage 2000 (Paperback)
I was a newcomer to FrontPage, full of ideas and plans. This book did not help me. I was stranded. It is just too elementary in approach. I had a hard time even wanting to read it. May work for you, but I'd get Sam's Learn FrontPage 2000 in 24 Hours instead.
