I purchased this harness (medium) for my 30# hound dog because she loves to ride in the truck, but the ride was too rickety for her to be comfortable. I also liked the fact that she couldn't leap out of the truck when I opened the door. Recently, we had a reason to never travel without it again. I was driving down a twisty two lane road when a driver coming in the opposite direction was distracted momentarily and swerved into my lane. I swerved to miss them but my truck lost control and we rolled over into the ditch on the opposite side of the road. My dog was securely fastened in her harness and I remember her flailing around, but securely attached! The truck landed on the driver's side door and she was dangling over my head. Had we not had her secured with the harness, she could have flown around or out of the truck and severely injured one or both of us. I will promote this product to everyone I meet with a dog, it saved our lives!!

The attachment to the seat belt is stupid. If you have a two belt system in you car, like most cars today (lap & shoulder all in one) they both have to go thru the loop on the harness making an uncomfortable harness even more so. I finally took an old collar of my dogs and ran it thru the little steel loop on the harness, then thru the shoulder portion on the seat belt. The harness is hard to adjust for fit and is hot for the dog. My Chihuahua just hates it. I used it twice & it will probably now go to the Goodwill store.

I always worried about our pup when we're driving. If we were in an accident or even have to come to an abrupt stop, his little body would fling across the car. In this harness, he stays secure in his seat and I know I don't have to worry. I recommend this for anyone who travels with their pets!

He's not crazy about it, but my small dog (14 pounds) gets fastened into this harness (size small - the product description says "Large" but we have the Small size) every time he rides in the car now. We've had this harness for about a week, and he seems to find it hampers his mobility on the seat of the car. I think he's just reacting to the pressure exerted by the shoulder/lap belt which is threaded through the big loop on the back the harness, and then clicked in place. He tends to lie down or just sit quietly when he's harnessed in. One of these days I think he'll discover that he can move around (stand up, etc.) while in the harness, more than he does now.

We haven't had any sudden stops in the car, much less (heaven forbid) an accident, while using this harness, so I can't speak to how well it works in those situations. (And I know, it's recommended for backseat use; I'm working my way toward that change once he's more used to the harness.)

This works great. I have a toy poodle and she behaves so perfect in the car because she has this harness on and I feel she is so safe. Great product, well made, and plush. Easy to use.

This was shipped VERY quickly and I am so pleased with my purchase. It is very easy to put on my dog and easy to secure in my car. We are ALL much happier travelers, thanks to Easy Rider!

We've owned an Easy Rider Car Harness, Large size for a few years now (over 2 years). All parts of it are extremely durable and are still as good as new...EXCEPT for the plastic side snap buckle or clasp (I think that is what they are called). It broke the other day as our dog was getting out of my husband's truck. Luckily this didn't happen in an accident. So my advice is to check the warranty thoroughly and replace it every couple of years or so, or find a replacement buckle. Other than that, I highly recommend this harness. We use it on walks and with the Walky dog hands free bicycle leash as well.

It was very difficult to get on my dog & the more I tried
the worse it got.

The harness was easy to use and I think would have worked fine but our dog chewed right through the leash that was connected to the seat belt. I was watching him and stopped him when I saw him trying to mess with it but somehow he was able to slice right through it. He didn't like being confined to the belt but will jump out of the car and take off the minute you open the door. I don't know what to try next, something with chain not leash
material. He is a chewer and has teeth like razors obviously.
