Rap music is audio garbage. If u can't understand what their are singing, most is filled with cuss words. They shouldn't be allowed to make it. No wonder why there is so much crime, the kids listen to that crap!!! Rap music...

5.0 out of 5 stars Music that feeds the soul, March 13, 2002
This review is from: Easy Rock (Audio CD)
I am not normally a "collections" type of person, as I prefer original and greatest hits albums by my favorite individual artists. This collection, however, is an exceptional one in the arena of soft rock. Call the beginning of this CD "The Michael McDonald Show", as he sings backup vocals on the great Kenny Loggins and Christopher Cross hits and then has a solo song of his own there. Also, of course, he sings lead on the Doobie Brothers' "What A Fool Believes" that is later on the disk. Unlike most soft rock collections (not to mention unlike adult comtemporary radio), most of the songs are absolute gems that I am not tired of listening to after all these years. There are no artists or songs on here that I can't stand. With quality, meaningful songs by artists from Ambrosia to Earth, Wind, and Fire to Little River Band to Benny Mardones, you can't help but be in a calm, pleasant mood when listening to this disk. While (again) I'm not one to promote many collections, this one I give a definite thumbs up.

4.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable fun, February 12, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Easy Rock (Audio CD)
Unfortunately, this is not the double CD advertised often on TV. But it is still great. I have a lot of these songs in my "collection" already, but "Steal Away" by Robbie Dupree has eluded me so I decided to break down and get this. These songs in this particular combination are incredibly cool, fun and relaxing. A great purchase.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great music to forget your troubles, September 29, 2002

I like this cd, I got it at [local store] and before that, I was dying to get it, it has some very nice songs on here and great artists. Chicago (I love this band's music)-baby, what a big surprise and Benny marodnes masterpiece, "Into the night" ...another one is escape (the pina colada song)by Rupert Holmes. I totally recommand this cd.

I was able to get the 2 disc version of this cd when I saw the ad for it on tv and the disc is AWESOME!! I grew up in the 70's and remember almost every song on this disc. My favorites in this compilation have to be the "Time Passages" by Al Stewart and "What a Fool Believes" by the Doobies!!
I highly recommend this cd to any 70's pop fan! This cd ROCKS!!

This album is a great add on to the music I love; I didn't know I was such a Michael McDonald fan but he is in a lot of these songs, learned something new about myself.

4.0 out of 5 stars TAKE IT "EASY", December 4, 2010
By
Jukebox Dave (RECORD TOWN, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Easy Rock (Audio CD)
EASY ROCK-VARIOUS ARTISTS: G'wan, admit it...you've inadvertantly hummed these dreamy ditties in your head till you've almost convinced yourself that soft rock ain't quite the travesty you always thought it was. EASY ROCK has nothing on it to offend even the most Barry Manilow-leary amongst you. Since this collection covers the late 70s-early 80s, Blue-eyed McSoul Man Michael McDonald's influence pops up all over the place. You hear it in the Doobie Brothers' own WHAT A FOOL BELIEVES, blatant Robbie Dupree clone STEAL AWAY, RIDE LIKE THE WIND's backing vocals, Kenny Loggins' THIS IS IT, which was co-written by McDonald...and that's not even including the Smokey One's solo biggie I KEEP FORGETTIN'. Elsewhere, you get TV-theme-turned-Seinfeld-joke THE GREATEST AMERICAN HERO (BELIEVE IT OR NOT), Benny Mardones' soulful, sex-saturated INTO THE NIGHT, Exile's seductive chart scaler KISS YOU ALL OVER, and many more like minded mellow-dies. Not that there's anthing wrong with that. Revisiting the Little River Band, Rupert Holmes, Ambrosia, and Bill Withers will probably have you pining for "the good ole days" when AM radio had something to offer besides inane, loudmouth talk-talk-talk.

RATING: FOUR SIGHS OF RELIEF

5.0 out of 5 stars Younger Memories, March 15, 2006
This review is from: Easy Rock (Audio CD)
I love this CD. It brings back so many memories of when I was much younger. Those younger more carefree days of just being a kid and not having all the worries of being an adult. Too many memories to count but this CD definantly brings out many of them.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is my favorite CD Ever!, March 2, 2006
This review is from: Easy Rock (Audio CD)
I am 33 years old and bought this CD last year at Walmart. I loved this CD so much that I would often play it at work and my co-workers also loved it. Recently my CD was broken and needless to say, I was searching all over for a replacement. After several attempts to locate another CD, I finally went on Amazon.com and now am ordering another copy. This CD will make your day when you listen to it.
