4.0 out of 5 stars This rose gardener's delighted.
This book is a satisfying read, not often the case with a garden book, and it's beautifully organized. I liked it so much that I bought a few copies. I knew I'd want to lend it out, and I knew that anyone who likes it as much as I do might be reluctant to return it.

I bought it because it purported to have information for sections of the country. The information given was basic and I would suggest getting a paperback book and saving your money.

The pictures were good -- the best part of the book by far. A small selection of each different type of rose (tea, hybrid tea, floribunda, rugosa, polyantha, etc) was given.

The information about individual roses is laid out well, the photographs are handsome and clear, and the specifications are all there, as well as parentage. I'm not a rosarian, so I don't know what the book doesn't have, but it has everything I need.

The book deserved a more complete index, which was the only weakness I found.

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy Roses for North America, June 6, 2011

Book arrived in good condition. I am just new to this colder zone so I need help in planning what to plant that will survive. Easy Roses gives a very comprehensive description of that. I review books from the library then purchase what I think I will be using for a reference for a number of years. Although I use the internet for looking up information I still like to have a book to read on my spare time. Amazon has always made it affordable for me to do this. Every purchase just like this one has arrived in good condition and in a timely manner.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Helpful, April 26, 2011
This review is from: Easy Roses for North American Gardens (Hardcover)
This is a wonderful book! One of the best books about roses that I have, and I have 12. I learned a lot that I didn't already read in the other books. There is a wealth of information on the different classes of roses and the areas in which they thrive. There is also a section on planting and care etc. Very helpful in determining which roses may thrive in your location. It is a beautiful, good quality book!
