This is an excellent resource for classroom teachers. I am a fifth grade teacher and have used this simulation for the last two years. It requires a lot of preparation on the teachers part in order for the simulation to run smoothly. At times the book is very thorough and in depth with its description as to how things need to work and other times I feel as though it sort of leaves you hanging and is vague with its descriptions. As far as assessment, it is a difficult activity to accurately assess. However, the book does provide rubrics for the teacher to use. I would be curious to see if anybody else out there has used this source and if so what they thought. Overall, good not great.
