This is a great book to support language learning at home. It comes with a CD so you can "hear" the story in English or Spanish and review keywords in the story. My kids love the illustrations and the animated voices of the bears. The CD has been great to use in the car -- my kids quiet down as soon as I put it on. AS a parent who is also learning Spanish, I appreciate being able to hear the story and see the text in both English and Spanish. And as a professional who specializes in dual-language books, I highly recommend adding this to your collection.

I can't say enough about how great this book is and how important reading is in learning a language! I am a biligual mother (English/Spanish). I have finally made it a habit to speak Spanish to my 3 1/2-year-old daughter, Sabrina.

When I bought this book, and Caperucita Roja by Ana Lomba, Sabrina fell in love with them! We read them every night before bedtime and half the time before naptime. In two weeks, her understanding/speaking capabilities increased by two or three times! The language acquisition theorist Stephen Krashen explains in his book, The Power of Reading, why reading is so helpful. If you want to learn another language, or you want your child to learn another language with you, you MUST include LOTS of reading material. You will learn so much faster! It's so much fun to read together. And it's so exciting to learn another language and watch your child learn and grow in another language as well.

Buy this book, Caperucita Roja, Play & Learn Spanish and "Hop, Skip & Sing Spanish" as well. Everything by Ana is great!

I am a non-Spanish speaking mother of a five year old daughter and two year old son. I want my children to be bilingual. I bought "Play and Learn Spanish" first and have purchased everything else this author has produced. All Ana Lomba's materails are A++++++++

Another fun and interactive learning tool and Another must have if you want to teach and learn Spanish.

My daughter loves this book and wants me to read and play the CD over and over and over again. I will be buying more of these.

I was worried this would be yet another Spanish book we would not benefit from as much as I had hoped for. GREAT news, it has the words in English and Spanish. The first part of the CD helps guide you on how to use the CD and book (e.g. go over key words that are in the story and then read the story). The people reading the book sound like native speakers so now I can read the book with out the CD and actually pronounce the words properly. My 3 year old twins LOVE the book and have started using several of the words and phrases. GREAT buy!

We like the book and the CD. FYI... The CD and the Spanish text are not always word-for-word.

My kids have learned pronontiation with this book and audio. The story is first said in spanish, at first if spanish is not your first language you will be confuse. Once you have heard it a couple of times your children will understand whats going on and follow the pictures. The story gets then told in english and the translation is very accurate.

We have a few of the books in this series. I know that this and Red Riding Hood are pretty scary stories, but the way they are told through this version are a bit 'mature'. The illustrations are also a bit 'mature' too (bloodshot/red eyes). I wish the story was written and illustrated at a more 'kid-friendly' level. I don't ever recall the version of Goldilocks having her leave a 'hair' in everything, or as in Red Riding Hood, the phrases, "!Que asco!" IDK, just wish it was a BIT more kid-friendly...younger kid friendly. The accent and vocabulary is also Spanish from Spain, which is fine, just something to consider.

I often use Ana Lomba's products in my Spanish classes to supplement the conversational curriculum I develop week by week.

This book is great - the students listen at home to the CD, and then read it in groups in class. We discuss the new words they learned, and for older students, we talk about the difference between preterite and imperfect tense verbs (high school).

For an introduction to Spanish, this may be a little overwhelming - but it never hurts to hear the target language in one more format! After a few lessons on the words that will be used, this is an excellent book. The only thing I noticed is that the Spanish translation is more "Spain-y" than Mexican, which is fine - all regionalisms are great, but for my own students, being in Texas, they noticed the difference between the way we speak around here versus this book. Honestly, a TEENY little con. All in all, a great supplement to any curriculum, any age!

I am very happy w/this purchase. I love that it's in Spanish and English. A very easy read uses latin american spanish which I appreciate. How can you go wrong w/such a classic story. It is one of my kids favorite stories.
