This brief book is absolutely outstanding! With detailed step by step instructions and matching screen shots, it easily leads you through the nooks and crannies of Windows settings that affect your computer's speed in launching and in using various programs. I very highly recommend it for reviving Windows XP computers that have become frustratingly slow. The best improvement so far for me was fixing up the paging files, and I'm not done!
Other sources and gurus, if they had anything to say at all about slow computers, told me to get rid of my 2002 computer before it died, but this book has saved it and made it young again. Many web searches yielded practically no help, and certainly no coordinated or unified approach to the problem. This book does everything, and much more than expected. |
