I just bought this machine, the box says the AC adapter is not included. I was ready to use it with batteries and open the box to my suprise the adapter is included. I use it to hem some pants and fix the zipper on my dogs bed. It works perfect!!! I never sown in my life, hate it, but this machine made it fun. The foot pedal is a great tool. Instructions could be more helpful or graphic since markets those inexperienced (like me). But for the price it's a great machine.

I am 45 yrs old and have never used a sewing machine before. I bought this machine because it was portable and I didn't want to invest in an expensive machine until I knew I would like sewing. It come already threaded and the instructions are easy to follow. The first time I used it, it did perfect. No problems at all except I can't sew a straight line yet. I would highly recommend this machine for any beginner.

I originally bought this machine to fix some hems and linings that needed mending. Those jobs were too big to do by hand. And I really didn't feel like buying a very expensive and bulky sewing machine when I didn't know how often I'd use it.

The pros: It's really small and portable. It helped me mend my items with ease and only a few mishaps. I even moved on to a larger project (a simple toga) and it did the job great.

The cons: I've used this about 5 - 6 separate times and each time there was a problem with the bobbin. It doesn't stay in place! Also, the thread they give you is totally junk and breaks easily. The reverse button only worked a few times and then broke off :-(. So I can't reinforce my seams. Also, the directions are kinda crappy. Mrs. Heckman (of the 8th grade) did a much better job explaining and providing illustrations.

Overall, I would recommend this to someone who wants a small machine for very simple jobs. I'm attempting to make a dress with this thing, and it's not working out so well. So I'll be looking into upgrading already.

I'm just starting out with sewing and this machine is so simple. Nothing fancy. It's great as a beginner to not have a lot of options. My only problem (I'm still giving it a 5 because it may be my own stupidity =) ) is that the thread tends to come out of the needle so I have to re-lace it with every new beginning. Again *GREAT* for beginners!!!!

I have been sewing (alot!) on other machines and bought this for a light, portable sewing machine, for when I want to sew other places (friends' homes, classes). It is great for that. The motor is a little loud, but not so bad I can't hear what people are saying around me. It is very light (2-3 pounds!!!!) and, using the box for a carrying case, it makes an easily carried machine. It uses standard needles, standard Singer/White bobbins (of which I have tons)and standard thread. (I threw away the cheap thread that came with the machine.) It does straight stitch front ways and reverses a little with the push of a button, for locking stitches. Most importantly, it does two thread lock stitch, not single thread chain stitch, just like the 'bigger' machines. It also has a decent bobbin winder. If you follow the thread plan marked on the machine, it is easy to thread.

I have to remember to hold the threads when I start stitching, or it pulls it out of the needle and I have to rethread. Thread goes in the needle sideways, instead of front to back, which is weird, but not unworkable. The different stitch lengths go from big, maybe 5 per inch, good for basting, to small, probably 12 per inch, in about three settings that aren't super precise but what can you expect for $30!!. I used it on two layers of cotton, so I don't know how it does on heavier cloth, but I don't expect to use it for anything heavier than cotton for piecing quilts. It did a nice, tight, even stitch.

All in all I am glad I bought it. It does what I want it to do in a light, portable package, that was inexpensive enough to take a chance on.

I bought this sewing machine to make a dress for my sister. It is a great product for the price! It only has a simple straight stitch, but has multiple sizes of that stich. This is perfect for simple projects and for beginners. I just bought a house and I can't wait to start making curtains for everything!

I really like the sewing machine for light sewing. It is easy to use and works very well. I like that it has a plug as well as batteries, that is much better than other machines out there. I would definitely recommend that you buy this sewing machine for all of your light sewing needs.
