Book Description

Easy Times is a self-study audio program that teaches the times tables to elementary students. Basic multiplication facts should be automatic if a student is to have success with more advanced math. This audio program teaches memorization of the times tables, one through twelve, and addresses the concepts of multiplying by zero, and the commutative property of multiplication. Professor Stan makes learning fun and easy. Includes two tests to be taken in the presence of an instructor. An excellent resource for homeschoolers, or any student needing help learning the times tables.

Editorial Reviews

From School Library Journal

Grade 2–5—In this straightforward, no frills, no glitz tutorial, listeners are taught the times tables from 1 through 12. Professor Stan provides a brief introduction to the program's format, and then begins with the one times table. He says each equation (e.g., one times one equals one) and then there is a pause during which the student is expected to repeat it. Next, he repeats the equation again without the answer, and the listener must provide the correct response before Professor Stan gives the answer. This process is repeated for each times table. At the conclusion, students must take two practice exams which feature multiplication problems, including a few simple story problems. There is nothing here that will inspire or motivate youngsters who need some encouragement.—Deanna Romriell, Salt Lake City Public Library, UT

5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT teaching tool!!!, April 17, 2008
This review is from: Easy Times: A Beginning Multiplication Tutorial (Audio CD)
This is a GREAT teaching tool for parents (or grandparents)!!! What I love about the `Easy Times' cd, is that you can take it with you in the car on long road trips, or when you're just running errands around town, and your kids will have an instant math tutor with them wherever you go!!! Kids will have FUN learning with `Professor Stan', as he teaches multiplication through repetition and easy to remember rules and tips. While your kids are improving their math skills, you can complete some errands!!! With `Easy Times', you know that you're helping to make your kids' education a success. This would also make an awesome gift for new Mom's (or new Grandma's)!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Multiplications Times Tables!, January 23, 2012
This review is from: Easy Times: A Beginning Multiplication Tutorial (Audio CD)
For years, both my husband and I had searched for the old records that both of us had had when we were children that taught the times tables. Then we commissioned Terry to do some audio work for us and Voila! we found that he had done the multiplication times tables on CDs. Snap. We recommend them on our emails and on our website. They're very professionally made and our children enjoy using them.

As a parent I especially appreciate the clear steady voice, NO MUSIC, and the flexible box. As a matter of fact, we have a rule in our house (that has several musicians who play several instruments each and use the CD player for every chore): "No playing music while someone is trying to do Math." Music is mathematical, so I really appreciate that there is no music to distract or disorient my learners during the learning tracks of these CDs. They cover all the first twelve multiplication tables.

Another thing that I appreciate is that each of the tables is on it's own track and the track numbers match the table numbers. That makes it easy for our children to navigate to the right table. The children can also use "repeat 1" to review the table several times.... They can pause and play, too, for a self correcting quiz. It's fun to watch them try to beat the answer without pausing, too.

You're right. These are great for homeschoolers and they're handy to take in the car, so they're handy for those in schools, too. As a matter of fact, I'll bet they'd be awesome for teachers who have the time and equipment to use them in school. They can make dead time into useful time. Oh - be sure to use headsets or earphones for your auditory learners! It makes a world of difference in their attention and retention!

Thanks for creating these and for keeping them in stock!
