Book Description

(vegetarian cookbooks, vegetarian recipes, vegetarian baking, vegetarian desserts, vegetarian cooking, vegetarian diet, vegetarian)

* * * Be sure to also check out "5 Ingredients or Less, Quick & Easy Vegetarian Recipes" (Volume 2). Includes 2 bonus chapters. Or, you might like the combined 5 Ingredients or Less Volumes 1 & 2 set.

Easy Vegetarian Cooking: Whether you're a long-time vegetarian, a sometimes vegetarian, or you just want a selection of quality and easy to prepare vegetarian recipes that actually taste good and are easy to prepare, this vegetarian cookbook is for you.

These vegetarian recipes are primarily for those new to a vegetarian diet, as well as for those trying to transition out of a poor diet lifestyle of processed and fast food. In addition to every recipe being 5 ingredients or less, the recipes are a 70/30 mix of fresh ingredients and packaged ingredients, which makes this vegetarian cookbook an easy transition for those who do not cook, or are not acclimated to using a lot of fresh vegetarian ingredients. For the more acclimated vegetarian, any of the prepared ingredients can be easily substituted with the fresh equivalent. Many of these recipes include dairy products, so while not vegan, these ingredients can easily be swapped out with vegan substitutions.

With no long list of complicated ingredients or hard to understand cooking preparations, busy moms, college students, working professionals and those who just don't want to spend a lot of time in the kitchen, will find this vegetarian cookbook a great 'go-to' resource in their kitchen.

In this cookbook, you'll find 100 easy to understand, easy to prepare and easy to eat, simple and delicious vegetarian recipes that all only require 5 ingredients or less. You won't be bored, as this large recipe selection is as diverse as your favorite local farmers market. Each chapter is categorized by a particular base vegetarian ingredient, as well as sub-highlighted vegetarian ingredients, making it simple for you to navigate to your favorite categories and vegetarian recipes.

Having been a vegetarian since I was nine years old, I am always on the lookout for ways to vary my diet and ensure that there are different food groups in my diet. However, I am a lousy cook and do not have much time to cook, so I usually end up with various frozen meals (of which there is not that much choice for veggies!). Getting this veggie cookbook has been a huge help, as it is packed with recipes - and these are ones that even I can follow, which is the best bit! The recipes in this book are simple and don't involve spending a small fortune on ingredients. For me, as a vegetarian, the recipes have provided me with a simple yet very effective way to vary my diet and enjoy some really tasty meals. I think this is a good choice for vegetarians (or those with vegetarians in the household) as well as for those who simply want to enjoy healthier meals that are simple to prepare.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the Best March 24, 2012
By MEB
Format:Kindle Edition
I am so glad I got book. I was searching for a cookbook with simple recipes for my vegetarian daughter, who just got her own place and hates to spend time cooking. This book absolutely fits the bill. The recipes ARE easy, but also (at least the one's we've tried already) very tasty as well. I've served a few of these recipes, and even my "gotta have meat" spouse enjoyed them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy recipes that tase great! February 17, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
My wife and I are trying to eat healthier, and prepare more non-meat dishes. Neither one of us has lots of time to cook, nor are we chefs, so short and to the point cooking appeals to us. I picked this book up with hopes that it would fit into our busy lifestyle, and I am happy to say that it does. I actually prepared the grilled cabbage wedges along with some chicken breasts last night, and they turned out great. Very easy to use cookbook, that I would recommend to other couples, or anyone else trying, who are trying to eat more healthy.

4.0 out of 5 stars Title says it all! July 5, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The title does tell it all. Lots of great ideas. My only complaint would be the use of too many canned veggies, but thats a small complaint. I'll be using this book a lot.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not what I was looking for... September 22, 2013
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I thought this would be a cook book for main dishes for vegetarians. Instead, it was more like just a "vegetable or side dish" recipe book.
