What are we doing this weekend, honey?, March 25, 2000

This review is from: 52 Easy Weekend Home Improvements: A Year's Worth of Money-Saving Projects (Paperback)
My home improvement library has three books: 52 Easy Weekend Home Improvements, the Black and Decker Guide to Home Repair and 50 Simple Ways to Save Your House. Between the three, I feel like all our bases are covered.
The best thing about is that it's like having a relative who's an electrician, plumber, painter, household wizard. There's a list of what you need for each project, and the pictures are terrific. I am a somewhat timid home improver, and I would still call an expert for some of the projects (like putting in outlets). Before this book though, I would have called an expert for things I now know I can do by myself: painting (and repairing painted surfaces) and wall papering (and fixing any errors the last owner made) come to mind immediately. For the less timid, this book will keep you busy!
