When my 30 gallon patio fountain started needing an algaecide, I looked locally but could only find swimming pool strength. Bought this product after reading positive reviews and am very pleased. Works just as other reviewers described and hasn't hindered daily visits from wildlife. To get the water really clear, I had to shock it twice, but a few drops weekly is all that is required now. The smaller bottle will last a long time.

I bought this product to keep the water in my fountain clear. Additionally I was concerned about not killing my cat or the local birds. It works well for me; water is clear, cat is not dead and as far as I can tell it's not killing the birds either. I'll buy the 64oz size next now that I've established it works OK.

I have had algae problems with my 100 gallon outdoor fountain on and off for years. I have tried various things, none of which was satisfactory. Finally, I called a fountain manufacturer in San Francisco. They said use Fountec. Period. Nothing else. So I did and the results are fantastic. The water is crystal clear. I do not have to worry about killing the birds that come for a drink. Last but not least, I only have to add 1/2 teaspoon a week for maintenance.

works like a charm
Algae growth is a big problem in my bird baths & fountains year-round, but a small amount of this keeps them beautifully clear between cleanings.

Contrary to what is said in the discription, this product is...
The label on the bottle states it is a harzard to humans & animals. After all the first aid info, it goes on to sate it is an enviromental hazard.

it should work
i purchased it for my water fountion but have not really needed it yet. therefore i cant reasly rate this one yet., but the bottle leaked when i got it. very sticky

Great stuff for fountains
This product really lived up to its hype. My fountain is crystal clear with just a few drops weekly. We went from green algae filled water to clear. I will buy it again.
