Makes inside corners significantly easier,

I've had the Easy Coper for a year now, and have used them to put up crown in five rooms so far. This product works precisely as advertised, but keep in mind it is not a crown moulding cure-all. They only work on inside 90 degree corners (they won't work on other degree inside corners, or any outside corners). And they won't work on all crown profiles. But if you are using the basic/default crown profile (the one shown in the photos on this site), these jigs greatly reduce the time it takes to cope inside corners.
If your walls are exactly 90 degree, the corners aren't built up too much with spackle, and you are painting your crown, you can probably get away with just mitering the insides without coping; a little caulk and some paint go a long way in covering imperfections. But still, it will almost always be a tighter fitting joint if coped. I highly recommend buying the Bosch blades that are recommended by Easy Coper. The blades have a small profile, and the teeth also cut a little on the sides of the blade, as opposed to only cutting in the forward direction. Normal sized jigsaw blades don't have enough dexterity to cleanly cope along the profile of the crown. I think the Bosch blades only come in T shank though... So anyway, I give Easy Coper 5 stars based on it performing as advertised; greatly easing the coping process for cutting 90 degree inside corners on the basic crown moulding profile. However, you still need a lot of attention to detail, precise angle and length measurements, and good overall carpentry abilities to put up crown. Anyone can put up crown moulding, but it takes skill to make it look good and fit tightly.

This tool works great for coping basic style crown. But for real fancy molding I wouldn't bother with it. The jig saw blade is to wide for getting in those tight places. A standard old coping saw works better. On the real fancy stuff we always miter our inside cornrers anyways. You get a way better joint it just takes a little more effort figuring out the angle when your 90 degree corner is out of square. But if you are using an ogee style or real basic crown this tool works great and fast. The last job I did was about 800 lin ft of 4.25 ogee crown and this tool probably shaved off an hour of time from coping by hand.

This is a very helpful addition to the tool chest. The written instructions that come with the jigs aren't overly useful but the video on the product website clarifies things well. $35.00 + bucks is a little steep for a couple of pieces of plastic but I suppose what you're paying for is the Idea, and in the end it is well worth it for the time saved in coping inside corners in a quick and clean manner.

I bought this as I didn't want to spend 100-plus on other models as I rarely do crown. Definitely makes coping easier, though mine was a bit warped-I'd worry about it in the hot sun....Also it is easily cut, which you will do sooner or later. I'm satisfied for the price but if I did only finish carpentry I would definitely
shell out the bucks for a nicer one.

I purchased this product and after cutting about 5 pieces, I got the hang of it and made perfect copes on both 5" and 3.5" crown. I did a whole room this weekend in about 1 hour. If it is a square room, I make 4 right hand copes in about 10 minutes and almost all of the cutting is done. I then cut the 16' long pieces to length and butt the other end in the corner. Every piece fit perfect and there was no miters to fuss with. Great product.
