Product Description

This form-fitting, seamless boot hugs the hoof and responds like a natural foot. Flexible and tough, this boot adds traction to the hoof, while allowing a free stride and breakover. Like a glove, this boot provides protection without stifling mobility. The Easyboot Glove material stretches over the hoof and clings to the wall so that debris stays out of the boot even through sandy and muddy conditions. No external hardware means that there is no need to worry about replacing cables. Studs are available for winter riding. Does your horse overreach? These boots have a faster breakover and no hardware to catch on the front heel if you are wearing them on hind feet. This boot must be carefully sized and fitted to the hoof. Your horses width and length must fall into the same size category. If your horses width and length fall into two different size categories you must choose another boot style. If you believe that you measured correctly but the boot doesnt fit tight try going to a smaller size or chose another boot in the EasyCare line. Sold individually.

5.0 out of 5 stars best hoof boot so far, August 6, 2009
The best hoof boot so far. Easy to put on (even on a hyper Thoroughbred it takes only minutes - less than 5 - to boot both front hooves), stay in place via the gaiter, no more shifting out of place, is very soft and good to the hoof walls, no intrusions. Even when you gallop through mud they stay on about 95 % of the times - which is very good, considering that we usually threw a shoe now and then. Even when you race on muddy ground and make sharp turns - like with a barrel - the boots just stay on! My horse is adapting to being barefoot and she is absolutely happy with the glove on every ground (she even can paw hysterically in the water with it on), even over jumps, in the arean or out in the wilderness. One advice: get the fit kit from easyboot - $ 8.50 WELL invested! And you might want to get the "power straps" for an even better fit.
These boots are terrific for transition to barefoot - whatever you do!

update October 2009:
still happy with the boots, the only time they really get lose on the hoof (but still cling to the leg) is when the hooves are just trimmed, and we race on top speed UPHILL ... so, we are still totally happy!

1.0 out of 5 stars I really wanted these to work, but they just don't., December 22, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: EasyCare Easyboot Glove 2 (Misc.)
I did a lot of research on various boots before pulling my horse's shoes. These appeared to be the most secure, and a great boot for the price. I ordered two to use on my horse's front feet for trail riding on gravelly and rocky trails.

Less than 20 minutes out on my first trail, the first one broke. It had survived crossing a stream and some deep mud, but I noticed one was making a flopping sound as my horse stepped on it, so I got off to inspect. Turns out the screw on the side had popped off and disappeared, although the boot was still in place and the gaitor was secure. I elected to take the boots off, knowing they wouldn't survive more mud without that screw. I left them on the side of the trail and picked them up on my way back to the barn. The gaitors make them easy to strap to your saddle. I returned the damaged boot to amazon and immediately ordered a replacement. I also ordered the manufacturer recommend Power Straps just to make sure I had the best fit possible, even though the boots already looked like a secure fit.

Second trail ride with these boots, after the replacement arrived, and more problems. They lasted through streams and mud and rocks, but as I cantered along a long straight trail with tiny pieces of gravel and maybe a 10 degree upward slope, I heard one of the boots flopping again. My horse was still cantering normally, so I continued to canter to the spot where I normally slow up. Then I got off to check. The left front boot had come off my horse's foot, then somehow turned around to face his back feet with the gaitor still strapped to his pastern. My horse was an absolute SAINT for continuing to canter with that thing flopping and flying all over, and he was probably landing on it half the time. I immediately removed both boots, and the one that had come off by itself was torn so badly around the heel area that the gaitor was almost completely removed. I could not believe how damaged it was in only 90 seconds of cantering. And I don't know how it managed to come off his hoof when it was strapped on so tightly with the power strap!

These boots are easy to put on and off, easy to clean, and I love the streamlined look. I also had no problem with them rubbing my horse's ankles. But unfortunately none of that matters because these boots just will NOT stay on, even under mild riding conditions. I really wanted to give my horse some extra protection, but these boots were a major disappointment. I returned both boots and was given a full refund. Thank goodness my horse is sound barefoot, because I really didn't want to start using metal shoes again!

2.0 out of 5 stars bummer boots, November 18, 2011
By
This review is from: Easyboot Glove Horse Boot (Apparel)
I am very disapointed in these boots. the side screws didn't even stay in for 5 miles of trail usage, even tho I tightened them as much as possible before hand. I canabalized what was left, got one boot... paired it with one of my renegades... the gove slipped more on ice, mud, and pavement. the Renegade didn't slip at all on pavement. No hair rubbing, but only 5 to 5 mi rides so far. Renegade easier to put on but glove ok as long as fit not too tight.
