4.0 out of 5 stars Trippy production & great collaborations save the day ..., May 3, 2007

I am ma self-confessed non-fan of minimalist trance, I am old fashioned that way. I like Epic trance, in the fashion of Hybrid (in my opinion - the last original dance act in the world). But somehow, the wavy & tripped out production deployed in this album complemented by the great collaborations (esp. Tracey Thorn - I cannot hate anything that has her taking part) would make me recommend this album.

The Highlight is ... Definitely Damage, reminds you of the the EBTG of old, with Tracey ex-beau Watt firmly in charge with his eclectic deep house roots...

4.0 out of 5 stars Tiefschwarz can't go wrong, October 19, 2005

Tiefschwarz came to my attention after I heard Sasha's Fundacion NYC mix, on which their monstrous remix of Freeform Five's "Electromagnetic" is the standout track. I listened to Eat Books in one sitting and afterward I felt like I had just escaped from a soviet prison run by robots. Anyone will tell you that Tiefschwarz's production style is minimalistic, but one is never left wanting. Tiefschwarz is what Kraftwerk would sound like if they succumbed to their evil impulses more often. 4/5.
