5.0 out of 5 stars An Excellent Book If You Struggle With Eating Issues, June 22, 2009
By
This review is from: Eat, Drink, and Be Mindful: How to End Your Struggle with Mindless Eating and Start Savoring Food with Intention and Joy (Paperback)
As a psychologist, I would certainly recommend this book to clients who have eating difficulties (or therapists who work with them). The workbook has a non-judgmental friendly tone that makes it easy to read. Dr. Albers includes several good assessments/checklists that can be used to pinpoint how you are struggling with mindless eating. The rest of the book contains many well thought-out exercises and practical suggestions to target different aspects of eating issues. I think this book can help to change your relationship with food.

This review is from: Eat, Drink, and Be Mindful: How to End Your Struggle with Mindless Eating and Start Savoring Food with Intention and Joy (Paperback)
Thank you Amazon, I'd tried several book shops before I tried you online. I'd always been reluctant to purchase anything online, but with the service provide by you I would definetly do it again.
I have'nt finished reading the book but so far the information contained in it has been most helpful with my problem. In fact the stratagies recommended I have implemented and have started having success in my personal life.

5.0 out of 5 stars What is Food METH? Food METH is NOT a MYTH!, March 30, 2010
By
This review is from: Eat, Drink, and Be Mindful: How to End Your Struggle with Mindless Eating and Start Savoring Food with Intention and Joy (Paperback)
***********What is Food METH ? --

Food METH is NOT a MYTH!

Fast food is so addictive, BECAUSE IT CONTAINS "HIDDEN MSG" (monosodium glutamate), the 'METH' of the Processed Food Industry!
SEE: [..]
for 25 plus Names used for "HIDDEN MSG." You will never guess their names!
The "HIDDEN MSG" has clever names! The MSG is hiding right under the public's noses. MSG (an 'excitotoxin') only purpose in food, is to make you eat more and more and more and....
'Truthinlabeling.org' lists the huge number of names for the "HIDDEN MSG,"
so you won't be fooled any more !!!!

For example, Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein (HVP) is made by boiling junk vegetables in vats of sulfuric acid and then doused with caustic soda.
--Sounds like the making of METH!--
But HVP is "only one" of the new FOOD METHs. It was recently, recalled by the FDA for salmonella contamination.
"Citric acid", made from "CORN and BLACK MOLD," is another clever name.
Everyone thinks it is made from citrus. LOL
Try a few more names on for size: CARRAGEENAN, Natural Flavors, Spices, Malted Barley, Autolyzed Yeast, Enzyme Modified, etc....
"HIDDEN MSG" is in Baby formula, sauces, dips, garden burgers, chili, etc.
I lost 12 pounds immediately after I eliminated food with "HIDDEN MSG!"
And I ask you, "Would you knowingly consume MSG or feed it to your BABY?"
Most would answer, "Absolutely NOT!"
I hate to tell you, but you are eating it if you are eating FAST FOOD! or Processed Foods!
