I felt the book was a bit misleading by the cover with all those foods depicted. This is a short board book with SIX pages showing a corn cob, an apple, an orange, a bunch of green grapes, a full page spread of a watermelon, a strawberry, a pretzel, a carrot, and a pod of peas. Our 16 m/o has a rapidly expanding vocabulary and we like to talk to her about her food. I bought the book based on the cover (as there were no reviews at the time), and expected bread, egg, tomato, eggplant, and other foods pictured. I'd excuse this thinking that more books in the "Eat" series would follow, but none of the sets of pictures were completely done in this book (it was a mix of all the pictured sets). I was SO hoping for the eggplant (which is part of a four square set on the back but NEVER shown IN the book. What the heck? I guess I shouldn't "read a book by its cover," but that's all I had to go off of and I do not think it's too much to ask that an INFANT'S book have clear intentions.

All that being said, the book has bright colours, pages dedicated to one food and a good, clean feel to it. Very easy for my daughter to point out foods and for us to ask questions about colours, shapes, and details. Wish it was longer and I wish they sold the Dwell Studio books in ONE SET!!

I bought this book for a 6 month old. For that age, the graphics are wonderful. Nice and large, simple, but not cartoonish. It's called "EAT", not "fruit" or "vegetables". I only say that b/c other reviewers seem surprised it's not entirely fruits or vegetables. There are more foods pictured on the front and back so you're not limited to the pictures just inside for pointing out to your baby. Again, people seemed surprised there wasn't more content inside this board book but there's no reason to ignore the front and back. I bought this at a book warehouse for around $3.

Lovely design, but the whole book for only 9 words?! I believe it should have more pictures. Of all vegetables, why just peas and carrot?

The graphics in this book are awesome- not so much "touch and feel" as just using different kinds of inks gloss/matt, raised printing. I love it, EXCEPT it only has 9 pics of food, all fruit, and a couple of them (Orange, Pretzel, watermelon) are things my baby hadn't even experienced at 7months old when I got this for him; was hoping there'd be more in it, maybe bread, crackers, more veggies, eating utensils- I dunno, just MORE. I got this to aid my baby in eating by helping him to understand what I am putting into his mouth. It didn't help much with that, but it does have bold, colorful graphics and we both enjoy looking at it. It's far more vibrant that another Dwell book I got (also very limited), but true to the Dwell esthetic, which I love love love.
