Eat Naked is full of convincing arguments and practical tips for cutting the junk out of your diet and replacing it with real food—which is exactly what needs to happen.
—Mark Bittman, columnist for the New York Times and author of How to Cook Everything and The Food Matters Cookbook
Eating naked is not The Next Diet. It is The Last Diet. Purge your pantry and strip the junk from your shopping list, but beware: you will doubtless have to face the facts about your rotten little food habits. Mine was surimi.
—Nina Planck, author of Real Food: What to Eat and Why
Margaret Floyd’s Eat Naked is a clear and passionate call to nourish ourselves in a more simple, natural, and beautiful way. With just the right mixture of science and sass, Eat Naked delivers wise nutritional information that’s easy to practice. In a world overloaded with conflicting dietary facts and systems, Margaret Floyd gracefully distills some of the best strategies for vibrant eating and living.
—Marc David, author of The Slow Down Diet and founder of the Institute for the Psychology of Eating
Eat Naked is wildly intriguing. For all time, our ancestors ate food that was caught wild, grass-fed, fermented, unprocessed, whole, and natural. In the last hundred years, these necessary, nourishing human traditions have been lost, and we’re largely at the mercy of Big Agriculture and the food industry. Eat Naked is a food revolution book that sets you free and also sets you on fire—free to live a long, fertile, healthy life of personal responsibility without disease, and on fire, because real access to whole foods is the newest civil rights movement that affects us all. Eat Naked and thrive!
—Mark McAfee, founder of Organic Pastures Dairy

I really enjoyed "Eat Naked."The title refers to the food you eat, not what you wear while eating. Ms. Floyd has written a very interesting and useful book that describes how to increase the health level of everyone's diet. She covers the science first and then moves to practical concerns including budget and actual (yummy) recipes. To be honest, I was fairly skeptical before I read the book. I'm a carnivore, and I've never been a big advocate of "official organic" foods. Ms. Floyd points out in her book that it is not a binary thing. There are shades of gray, and it is better to eat whole grain foods that might use current commercial production methods than to eat wholly processed foods. All in all, it was a very good read. The book is logical, well-written, and useful. Bravo! In service, Rich [...]

Let's just say right off that this is NOT an X-rated book or a book that has anything to do with sex. Sorry. It really is a book about food, and eating food naked; that is, about eating food that's naked, not about eating food while naked. What does that mean, exactly? Well, according to the author, Margaret Floyd, this means eating food that is: "whole, unrefined and often comes unpackaged; grown naturally; fresh, in season, and ideally hasn't been preserved; grown locally; and prepared minimally." She elaborates on each of these concepts to give the reader a full picture of what she advocates. Does this mean you can't eat meat? No, says Floyd. She used to be a vegetarian. Now she eats meat but only meat that comes from animals that are fed properly, not given artificial hormones or antibiotics, and are treated humanely. This book is packed with lots of great info. In Part 1 she gives the reader "The Basics of Eating Naked" and follows that up with Part 2 by telling the reader "How to Get Naked". She includes recipes for many easy-to-make naked dishes. She also includes a long list of references to back up her facts, opinions, and ideas. This is a great book for anyone who wants to learn how easy it is to eat healthier foods.

Eat Right: Gain Health and Freedom,
This review is from: Eat Naked: Unprocessed, Unpolluted, and Undressed Eating for a Healthier, Sexier You (Paperback)
Samuel Johnson opined: "Some people have a foolish way of not minding, or pretending not to mind, what they eat. For my part, I mind my belly very studiously, and very carefully; for I look upon it, that he who does not mind his belly, will hardly mind anything else." And "Eat Naked" supplies wise counsel and practical steps on how one should avoid eating processed food. It seems everywhere one turns, home and away, one is confronted with countless unhealthy food choices, but herein the author not only educates, but understands, as she delivers fine advice on improving one's health through eating nutritious meals.Eat Naked assists those who are: * Tired of counting calories with all the charts and tables * Perplexed by the numerous diets offered in the Media * Aiming to improve their health * Embracing the goal to lose weight in a healthy happy way. Health and nutritional expert Margaret Floyd will instruct and support you as you improve your health and weight correctly; in a manner that can be straightforwardly maintained. "Eat Naked" is a must read for moms, educators, and dieters, and all others who yearn to eat better. I, as a Certified Nutritionist, enthusiastically commend this marvelous new resource. Pick up this fine volume, apply its truths, and discover a Fresh start for your health and well-being.
