5.0 out of 5 stars Great new edition! September 14, 2011
By MM
Format:Paperback
Love this series! I just went out and bought this edition today. As a busy mom with three kids, they cover all the bases--home, restaurants, shopping. It's like a cookbook, grocery list, and takeout menu drawer rolled into one book. And believe it or not, it works--it's like I can lose weight without even thinking about it...17 pounds since buying my first book! I also love that they cover more than just diet tips and focus on eating better overall--it blends weight loss for me with overall health for my family. Plus, the recipes are so cheap and delicious. Do yourself a favor and order one ASAP--you'll be hooked too!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best edition in a long time! September 13, 2011
By Ajz23
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I have purchased every Eat This and Cook This book to date and the last few have been a bit repetitive. However, this edition really shines compared to the few that preceded it. There are a ton of informative articles at the beginning followed by a revamped version of the "eat this not that" section of the book. I am glad that the series has picked up and will be able to maintain existing fans and hopefully bring in a bunch more!

3.0 out of 5 stars Over-hyped and not that useful February 1, 2012
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
The author spends the introduction hyping the book (which you've presumably already purchased), then several paragraphs extolling the virtues of Michelle Obama (who is a fine lady, but not exactly what I bought the book for), and a the better part of a chapter explaining that America is overweight and sells unhealthy food. The rest of the book is devoted to comparing a very small sampling of foods from restaurants, heavy on the fast-food variety, and really doesn't have any information you couldn't glean from published nutritional information.

I'm not impressed. For me this book was a waste of money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Great Resource November 18, 2011
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
My wife and I started with the Eat This Not That 2011 edition. We wanted to lose weight and were using the My Fitness Pal app on our phones to count calories. The only problem we did not have enough calories to eat and stay somewhat full. Once we bought the Eat This Not That 2011 edition our problem was solved. We now had a reference guide for lower calorie food options with more protein and fiber to keep us fuller. I was unsure about buying the 2012 edition thinking what difference would a year make? After using the 2012 edition it is money well spent. At only $11.88 including 2 day shipping you can't beat it for an up to date reference manual. Combining the My Fitness Pal phone app and Eat This Not That I've lost 45 lbs in 6 months with very little exercise and while eating a Snickers Ice Cream Bar every night. After seeing my weight loss my wife jumped on the bandwagon and has lost over 20 lbs.

4.0 out of 5 stars Liked this book November 25, 2011
By MOJO
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
This book offers excellent suggestions for curbing calories and fat when eating out and making food purchases to cook at home. The downside is that it appears to be regional as many brand items and fast food restaurants are not available in my area.

4.0 out of 5 stars Get rid of the graphics October 8, 2011
By FLDave
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I need to check this book every time I go out. A lot of great info. Giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because I cant read the print in the graphics. I increase font size but it doesn't increase the size of the graphics. Ordered Cook This not That in print.

This book focused more on eating out at places, I was looking more for every day help. I was disappointed in the book.
