I received this scale as a Christmas gift. When I received it, I opened it up to make certain it was in in working order. It took me a minute to locate the batteries on the back side of the foam packing material. I weighed myself 4 times and the weight was the same EVERY time. Then I weighed my son to see his weight. I held my son in my arms and weighed both of us and I love the fact that it comes within .2 lb.
A VERY stylish scale, with easy to read numbers.
I ended buying one for my cousin !!!
Great price/value with an accurate weight every time!

Until I purchased this EatSmart scale, I'd just about written off all digital scales due to the fact once the lithium batteries are depleted, the scale gets tossed into the trash. Not with THIS scale! It uses four (4) AAA batteries, easily replaceable via a battery latch located on the bottom of the scale. Batteries are also included.

This scale is accurate almost 100% of the time. I took this with me to my doctor's appointment and tested the accuracy - after being weighed on my doctor's scale, I put this scale down beside it and was exactly the same weight.

It looks very contemporary, sleek and modern, and the numbers are easily read - they measure almost 1½ inches high on a cobalt blue background. I have poor vision when not wearing my contacts or glasses and I have no trouble seeing the numbers.

I only have one complaint. My bathroom is fairly small, so I have to move my scale every time I weigh, which necessitates re-calibration. Which isn't so hard to do, it just means I have to step on & off the scale twice to get my true weight. If I'm very careful when moving it out from the wall, without plunking it down hard on the floor, I can get away without recalibrating.

And no tapping to turn it on first; in fact, there is a peel-off plastic sticker on the top of the glass saying do NOT tap to turn it on.

EatSmart cares about the quality of their products and their customer service! I will buy from them again. I received this digital scale last week and was pleased with the quality of construction, the style and also the large blue digital numbers that were easy to read, but I was disappointed in its accuracy. When Amazon asked for a review, I wrote a quick email to EatSmart about its accuracy, first. They responded within minutes! As instructed by William Geronimo, Vice President, EatSmart Products, I went through a very quick calibration procedure and the scale is now calibrated and works great. If I pick up a 2 pound weight it shows 2 pounds more, and same with a 5 pound weight.

So if your scale is not reading accurately, or you have to move it, follow these simple calibration steps.
1. Take one battery out to reset the scale and put it back in (not necessary each time.)
2. Place the scale on the floor. (flat surface not carpet)
3. With your foot, press down to activate the scale so the backlight comes on, but don't stand on it fully.
4. Let the scale turn off. This auto-zeros the scale and calibrates it.
5. Weigh yourself.

Calibrate your scale once, before you say that it is inaccurate! If you have any problems, I recommend contacting EatSmart. They responded quickly and obviously really care about their customers and their products.
