The EatSmart Carb-Factor Scale really helps me with my diabetic diet. With the scale plus the carb book I can measure how many carbs I'm eating.Some books just give you a range of carbs, with the scale and ratio book you can get a very accurate count. Leebo

I ordered this item about 2 weeks ago, since then, I have been measuring my servings at each meal. I feel better already! It is very accurate and I can see a definite difference in how my clothing fits! It works great.

Outstanding! So glad I bought it! Weighs in oz., lbs, gms, etc. Subtracts the weight of the container your food is in. Can accurately weight 1 tsp. of shredded cheese, or my cat, if she stays still, as she is less than the maximum for the scale, 11 lbs.

The scale is light, so it's easy to add to my bag and take it to a restaurant. It's sturdy enough to take a bit of a beating being lugged around that way too. It's very easy to use, and I love that the timer resets every time you press the tare button so it never turns off in the middle of adding multiple items to my plate.

I called the company before purchasing this scale because I wanted the red scale with the Carb-Factor booklet and that combo wasn't explicitly available through the Amazon website. EatSmart's customer service was excellent. They substituted the red scale when the order came in and even included a new booklet for the nutrition scale (which I use at home and LOVE) since mine's gotten pretty tattered. I use both scales every day and they're hugely helpful if you have to calculate carbs to adjust insulin injections like me. I highly recommend both the products and the company.

Please note that the red scale is actually a darker, almost burgundy shade rather than the brighter red depicted on the website. Also, sadly, the Carb-Factor Booklet does NOT subtract out fiber. Don't rely on the numbers for insulin calculations for higher fiber foods--for beans and some fruits and veg, the numbers will be way off.

We love this scale. The carb factor book is the best part. My son is newly diagnosed type 1 diabetic. Now we just weigh the food and multiple by the factor. No more measuring cups! Booklet is small and covers all the basic, plus it has extra space where you can write in your family favorites.

Compact, precise, durable (so far). Just what I wanted. I use it for food and for

packages. Absolutely no complaints.
