Simple baby powder does a better job removing the smell because of moisture absorption.

No product can kill sneaker odor once it's in. But this prevents it from ever getting that to that point.

There are various methods to kill foot odor that's already gotten into your shoes or sandals. A freezer will kill a lot of bacteria and will last a 3-4 weeks. Fabreze will kill some of the surface bacteria and mask the rest for about two weeks. Bleach and deep cleansing of the shoe insert (if you can remove it) may do slightly better.

But once you smell a persistent odor, your sneaker is done. By then, the bacterial structure is buried deep in the fabric and padding. And there's nothing you can do to get it out. Like the crystalline structure of uric acid, once a rug, sneaker or sandal gets warm or moist again, the dormant bacteria that wasn't destroyed roars back to life and brings back that smell. It's simple chemistry.

For me, it used to mean that my shoes would typically last 3-6 months. In that short amount of time, they would turn from new to stinking so bad they needed to be destroyed.

Odor Eaters spray WILL prevent that permanent stink from ever owning your shoes.

Just spray your feet in the morning then put on fresh, clean socks. Once a week, top it off with an extra spray burst directly into your shoes. If you do that, the deep-seated bacteria will never have a chance; You'll never get the dreaded stinky bacteria that can't be killed.

Even better, this Odor Eaters brand is much better smelling than the medicine, industrial smell of the other name-brand foot and odor products. When you need to remove your shoes at someone's home, Odor Eaters is a FAR BETTER scent to have around than other brands.

If you think you can kill odor once it's taken root, you can't. So, rating any foot odor product on that basis is bunk. But to prevent ever getting 'Perma Stink', this stuff works. Just use it daily and you'll be able to keep your shoes for years instead of months.

This is a Tolnaftate Spray and as such is good for common athletes foot. Personally, I prefer the tolnaftate cream products, but the sprays can help too, and can also be sprayed inside the shoes to help prevent the athletes foot fungus growing inside them. Sprays can be liquid or powder; this one is powder. Best thing about this product is it has same active ingredient (tolnaftate 1%) as some more expensive products, so this one is usually a good value for a national brand.

I purchased this product for my sneakers because they stink when I wear them. I applied the spray inside my shoes hoping it will "destroy odor on contact" but nope made no difference. It might have worked for the first 5 minutes, but that's it!

Not only does this product kill bacteria that can cause athlete's foot, in doing so, it also eliminates the heinous odors that arise from said bacteria feeding on the funk you left behind in your shoes. Great item to keep handy in your gym bag. You will need to use it frequently for it to work.

Tried this on my work boots... Absolutely no help! Simple baby powder does a better job removing the smell because of moisture absorption. This product does NOT kill odor on contact.

We bought this Odor Eater Foot & Sneaker Spray because my teenage son's shoes were seriously foul smelling. The stench from his shoes made our living room smell like a poorly maintained locker room. It was so bad that we started making him take his shoes off outside (and I am surprised that the neighbors didn't complain :-) but his socks would still bring the smell inside with him. Using this spay worked very well and only two applications completely resolved the problem.

I also like that it contains and antifungal component to help prevent athlete's foot.

This works quickly and is fairly priced!

Highly Recommended!

Nothing works as well at cleaning up that grungy smell of work boots or long distance running shoes. Leaves a clean, fresh smelling aroma that is not too heavy (especially as compared to some other foot odor sprays). I highly recommend!
