3.0 out of 5 stars Very basic but well written June 17, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
For a very basic little Kindle book, Eating for a Healthy Heart: The How-To Guide is fine. Recommended meals are included, as are few recipes. Of course, the recommendations include lean meats, plenty of veggies and fruits, as well as complex carbs. A description of cholesterol is given in addition to the triggers such as sodium, stress and inactivity for hypertension. Because this really doesn't include much more than one can get via handouts from a medical office, I must give this an average of three stars. If only for its value as an impetus to improve one's heart health, it's worth the read.

4.0 out of 5 stars Common sense for healthy heart July 28, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This Kindle publication is written by a certified nutritional counsellor, and as such it contains a nice summary of everything we know that is good for us - diet, exercise and stress reduction. It is all common sense information, nothing particularly unique or different, and nothing one could disagree with. The book contains a couple sample menus and a couple recipes.

If you are interested in the topic of health, you already know everything the author has to say in this book. On the other hand, you will not disagree with anything the author has to say either.
