For many years I have been looking for a way to shorten my 5 hour initial health consultations. New patients have a hard time absorbing all the information that I go over during this time. The idea of making a video which contains all of the healthy eating information seemed like an excellent method of shortening the 5 hours. The first two hours is always used to teach my patients about good and bad fats, good and bad proteins, why bread, pasta and potatoes are bad for our health, why a glass of juice is the same as a candy bar, and a great deal more. A lot of this information gets forgotten because it is just too much to learn in one sitting. Now I just send out this video with all the forms that each new patient needs to fill out. They can watch it as many times as they wish and take notes of questions they will want to ask me when they come in for their initial consultation. The video is only loaned and then returned when they come in. The video is working very well, and many of my patients as well as my students continue to buy copies as gifts for those they love and whose health they wish to improve. I am now even having other health practitioners who are buying multiple copies to loan out as I do.

David J. Getoff, CCN, CNC, FAAIM, and traditional Naturopath Is board certified as a Naturopathic physician by the North Carolina Board of Naturopathic Examiners, is board certified as a Clinical Nutritionist (C.C.N.) by the Clinical Nutrition Certification Board, is licensed as a nutritionist by the State of New York, is certified as a Nutritional Consultant by the American Association of Nutritional Consultants and is a Fellow of the American Association of Integrative Medicine. He is also a research associate of the Occidental Institute Research Foundation in Canada, is listed in Who’s Who in business, is an elected member of the American College of Nutrition, and has testified in court as an expert witness in the field of clinical nutrition. David is the Vice President of the Internationally renowned Price Pottenger Nutrition Foundation. David has a very busy full time private practice in Naturopathic medicine and Clinical Nutrition in Deerhorn Valley just past Jamul on the outskirts of San Diego California. For the past eight years, he has been teaching "Attaining Optimal Health in the 21st Century" every semester through Grossmont College, a course he designed to educate the public about holistic health. The course is now available as a 6 video set containing almost 13 hours of instruction. He also gives related lectures and seminars to organizations around San Diego and across the United States to promote a better understanding of holistic health for the public and for other health professionals.
