Christine's book provides guidelines for managing a milk-allergy diet and has over 100 taste-tested recipes for milk-free foods. Eating Well Milk-Free is divided into 7 sections.
It opens with a guide which describes what milk-sensitivity/allergy means and how to cope with it.
The next five sections detail recipes for treats (the item which most milk-sensitive people find least available); and then breakfast; lunch; dinner; and concludes with milk-free beverages. The final section is a list of appendices with specific information.
The book has a number of unique features including a prop-up cover design which lets the book "stand-up" when recipes are being used. The recipes are provided with both metric and imperial measures. The book includes two wallet sized tear-out milk-alert ingredient cards that help identify milk-ingredient names on packages. In addition, there is a food diary form to track eating habits which can aid a health professional in making a food allergy diagnosis. The book also has colouring pages for children.
