5.0 out of 5 stars I love this cookbook!, March 1, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Eating Well Is the Best Revenge (Hardcover)
I've had this book over a year now and keep going back to it for easy, healthy and most importantly quick recipes. With it, I'm able to serve a variety of meals yet not spend the afternoon cooking them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Eating Well Is the Best Revenge: Everyday Strategies for Del, June 21, 2001
By
This review is from: Eating Well Is the Best Revenge (Hardcover)
Of all of my "healthy cooking" cookbooks, this is the one I'd save from fire! The food is truly delicious, and they are easy to prepare. I generally find I increase the sauce quantities, but there is not an appreciable increase in calories. My husband and I have each lost over 20 pounds this year, slowly and easily, with great enjoyment. I got online to order this book as a present for a friend who survived a heart attack, and am sorry to find it not available! Does anyone have a copy to spare? Probably not now, with this glowing review!

5.0 out of 5 stars Or, variety is the spice of life, November 7, 2003
This review is from: Eating Well Is the Best Revenge (Hardcover)
Burros offers good, low-fat meals designed to be on the table in 20 to 30 minutes. Organized traditionally by main-dish ingredient (vegetarian, chicken, etc.) each two-page spread includes a full meal, main and side dish, with "game plan" directions and nutritional information. Burros stresses a "strategic approach" to cooking to maximize kitchen efficiency and her directions are simple and easy to follow.

The dishes are simple and delicious and varied - curried potatoes, tomatoes and peas; yellow fruited rice with fish, Chinese chicken and rotini, turkey apple patties.

Perfect for the harried cook, sick of eating the same things all the time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simple and Nutritious, August 17, 2011
This review is from: Eating Well Is the Best Revenge (Hardcover)
I love this cookbook because the recipes are luscious, taste-tingling, and very nutritious. They're also easy to make. For those cooks who just don't know where to start or what order to consider or prepare things in, each suggested meal has a "Game Plan" that is very simple. I like that this cookbook lists the nutritional content of each meal, including calories, carbohydrates, protein, and fat. Most cookbooks don't do this.

This review is from: Eating Well Is the Best Revenge (Hardcover)
I've been cooking recipes from this book for years. I recently tagged tried-and-true recipes and loaned this to a friend. There were at least a dozen recipes tagged. Great recipes for weeknight cooking. 'Rotini and Vegetables with Tahini Sauce' is a frequent one-dish dinner during the work week.
