If your looking for something to break the monotomy of the current metal selection, I implore you to check out this album by Gods Tower.
Upon hearing the first song I knew I was in for an interesting expierence. By the time it was over I had been emeresed in an amgalation of musical genres ranging from death/doom/thrash to irish drinking music. The rest of the album follows suite. Fun upbeat party songs, to brooding examples of metal at its finest, Gods Tower does it all. Every facet of their sound is fairly innovative, but I've got to say the guitar parts stick out to me most. I'm not exaggerating when I say, I don't think I've ever heard a guitar played in some of these ways before. It has to be heard to be appreciated, just like the rest of the album.
