These test strips are particularly valuable to individuals on severe, low-acid diets. In view of the many conflicting published lists of "good" and "bad" foods, it is best to have a positive way of testing the food in front of you before you eat it, at home or away. Cooked foods, as you prepare it at home or as it is served away from home, may have different acid content than what is published. Anyone with a condition that requires a low-acid diet knows that mistakes are painful. These relatively low-cost, accurate strips have alerted us to potentially unpleasant episodes. We use them at home to help create episode-free menus and we are not afraid to use them at restaurants to prevent painful mistakes.

Suggestion - the instructions recommend two seconds of contact with a substance to be tested. My experience with these is that better readings are achieved if you "count to ten" before reading the strip.

These appear to be very decent test strips but they did not suit my needs; my bad.. There range is way too wide for use to determine body pH. Then I found a business use for them and tried to order more but they were no longer available at the time. These are adequate, but not outstanding, for giving someone a decent idea of what the pH is of a given fluid. Still, they work better than the paper strips.

I got these for my son for a science fair project which involved measuring the pH values of a variety of liquids. Since these do mention that they are capable of measuring values from 1.0 to 14.0, I ordered these. Upon usage found that the color did not change AT ALL regardless of how acidic or how basic the liquid was. I would like to return this product since the product did not work as expected.
