This scale is a little gem. It makes it easy to count the:

-Calories

-Salt

-Protein

-Fat

-Carbs

-Cholesterol

-Fiber

that make up my diet. I can place different food items (individually) on the scale and it will tell me how much cholesterol is in the item based on weight and the three-digit number for the food found in the instruction manual. I love it!

I was surprised to see that I could weight candy bars, breakfast cereals, hamburgers and all sorts of meats, vegetables, ice creams, etc. and find out the nutritional content.

The scale has the option to "remember" what I've weighed so I can track my total nutritional intake.

I'm also going to use the scale to weigh things I send through the mail because the scale displays pounds, ounces and grams.

The scale seems pretty sensitive. I put a single piece of paper on the scale and it registered .1 ounces.

One feature I really like is that I can place an empty bowl on the scale, turn the scale on, and it reads at zero weight. I can then pour ingredients that I want to measure in the bowl and the scale then displays the weight for the ingredients only which means I don't have to manually subtract the weight of the bowl.

If you eat stuff not listed in the code book, you are out of luck. There is no way to create a custom code and there is no listing that I could find anywhere on the Internet where you could get additional codes. Some very common items, like Ranch Dressing, is not listed in the code book.

EDIT 6/9/10: My scale previously stopped working. Even after replacing the batteries, it would not turn on. Miraculously, it came back on. Sometimes, it would still act up but I use this scale daily and did not want to wait for a replacement if it would still work. However, this week it has stopped working again. I wanted to give it a few days in hopes that it would turn on like the first time, but no such luck. I would have knocked this down to 3 stars, but customer service was helpful (spoke with them during the first incident, awaiting second incident response) so I gave it 4/5 starts.

I absolutely love this scale. It is great for anyone who is on a diet or trying to watch portion sizes. I like that some items are pre-programmed in the scale. This is especially helpful for fresh fruits and vegetables. Although, I will admit looking through the book is a little tedious, but I just went through and highlighted all the items I eat regularly. I have used this scale every day since I got it and have not had any problems so far. I have not even had to replace the batteries yet! I definitely recommend this scale.

I was really excited to try this scale out. I was a litle disappointed in how difficult it is to use. There is a manual but it is hard to find the foods you want. They are not categorized very well. However, when I did find the foods I was weighing it was very helpful. It just takes time to get used to everything. It is cool that is weighs in different measuremnts (ie, grams, oz, kilo, etc...) I am going to give it some more time and continue to get familiar with it.

This scale is pre-programmed with the stats on numerous food items. I love that I can easily track my calories, fats, carbs, etc., even on items like an apple. Once you learn how to use it and get the hang of weighing in your food, it's pretty handy.

One of the things I hate about Amazon is all the fake reviews. This one is chalk full of them with people affiliated with the company posing as customers.

Take a look at history reviews of the people commenting on this item. See a pattern? Also, take a look at the locations of some of the reviewers and how close they are to the Utah based "Handstands" company. Coincidence? I think not! Unless they have some sort of Handstands cult going on there.

This scale is great for anyone watching their weight and their food intake. I can keep track of the calories that I consume in one day or all week It is easy to use and does not take up a lot of space on the counter. I would recommend anyone who is dieting or even if you just want to weight a package you can do that to!

This is a terrific product if you are watching your diet! It takes into account all of the different diets out there as it counts calories, carbs, salt, protein, fat etc. It is extremely user friendly and takes up little space on your countertop. I would recommend this to anyone out there needing to buy a food scale!

This product is easy and fun to use. Comes with directions that are easy to read and understand. Great for logging daily, weekly food journals for any health conscience individual. The size is relatively small as far as width, depth and height. It can fit in a drawer or hang out on the counter. It uses different types of weight measurements as well such as lbs, oz and grams. You can also use it for other items such as mail for postage purposes or anything else up to 7 lbs. The item also has a nice brushed chrome appearance and a the weighing plate is glass.

This is just what I need to help me calculate my daily intake of calories, fiber etc. etc. It has many more features than other scales I have seen and used. It can be used for counting calories as well as weighing letters and packages. This product is a must!!!!
