I bought this heater to provide warm/hot water to wash the horses. They love it and so do I. Easy to install and works great. In fact, the smaller unit would have provided enough hot water....this one can do two at a time!!!!
I have already recommended this product to many other horse people so they too can have happy horses.
Unit also seemed to be of high quality construction.

I have been using my L10 for about 2 months now and am very happy with both it and the Eccotemp customer service. I bought the heater to supply water for a shower and sink in a new bathroom. I didn't have capacity or space for a standard electric or gas heater -- or the money for a bigger name brand on-demand water heater. I was delighted when I found the Eccotemp L10 but nervous because I have low water pressure and live in a high wind area. (Both of these conditions were stated as possible problems for this water heater.)

This bathroom project was completely a DIY project. I am a 53 year old woman with no previous plumbing experience. I was able to install the unit myself just using the instructions provided by the company. My installation included attachment to a hard pipe instead of using the garden hose. Customer service went way above and beyond the call of duty in supporting my installation. I had a couple of problems with operation that they patiently helped me resolve. It now runs reliably from a standard barbecue size propane tank. (Turns out if the tank regulator has any internal wear or damage, it won't operate the unit properly -- even if the tank continues to operate a barbecue.)

The unit has been attached on an outside wall of the bathroom. As such, it is partially sheltered from the wind but continues to operate consistently in windy conditions. While I did have some problems adjusting the temperature of the water from the shower, they were related to a low water pressure situation. Setting the unit properly and removing the low-flow restrictions from the shower head solved those problems.

All in all, I am delighted with the unit. It was an inexpensive solution to the problem of getting hot water to a new location. Sometimes I wish I had a remote control for the unit . . . but since I didn't want to pay the big bucks for a more sophisticated solution I certainly got everything (and more) than I paid for!

Quit reading, start buying. This water heater is perfect. It installed in less than 10 minutes, and produced a hot shower only seconds (seconds) later! We've permenantly mounted it to the back of a potting shed for easy outdoor showers after fishing and gardening. An absolute winner- really- buy this product!

I bought this water heater for our summer cabin. The unit produced hot water, but you cannot adjust the water temperature except for on the unit itself. We had it plumbed in with our shower, and when you turn on the cold water to adjust the temperature, the unit shuts down! Same situation with the sinks. The unit works great if you only need one temperature that is set on the unit itself, so it is not practical for typical uses.

I bought this for a deep 2 man off-deck hot tub at my hunting cabin. I have a fairly low pressure artesian water source and worried about the necessary pressure to trigger the startup. It performed as advertised, after I realized that I had forgotten to install the batteries. It is more than adequate for this large volume of water. The instructions were a little confusing as to starting. One needs a shut off valve for the hot water outflow. I did not have one and quickly learned to put my finger over the 1/2 in outflow pipe to back up the pressure for startup. I get an occasional flame out when the well pressure drops a bit- finger over the outflow pipe orifice and we are back in business. Great D cell battery powered starter with no pilot light to have to mess with. (hate 'em) I built a little rain sheltering housing unit for it and was pleased with the nominal heating of the unit case and exhaust during operation.

I purchased this heater for our little cottage up in the wilds of Canada. It installed in a jiff. I was well packaged.

At first the heater would not stay lit for more than 10 seconds, a real problem if one wants to take a shower. One quick phone call to the 1-800 had me take a small sensor off of the heater, and it worked great. The other problem was that the male part of the regulator would not screw far enough into the propane tank female receptacle to allow the gas to flow. I ended up splicing a regulator from an old propane grill onto the hose, and then it worked fine.

Pros: Easy install; good quality parts; great customer service

For the money, this is a good little unit. It lasted all summer and I anticipate using it for many summers to come.

Bought this heater to replace a storage heater at my camp. Hook up was easy. For the price, I would recommend this unit for light duty and outdoor use. It comes with a gas supply hose and connector, and an adaptor to connect it directly to a garden hose. I opted to connect it using my camp's water supply lines.

Only major problem encountered was the temperature limiting sensor was installed for 130 degrees and kept shutting off the unit whenever water reached that temperature. Called the EccoTemp support line and they advised that it should have been shipped with a 150 degree sensor. They advised that I remove the sensor and once the 150 degree ones came in, I should call to have a replacement sent to me. Surprisingly, I thought they would take my information and send me one without my having to take additional action.

However, the unti works as expected. The unit description says that it will work with water pressure between 20 and 80 psi, but I do have some issues with fluctuating water pressure. Can not turn on any other faucet while heater is running. I believe I can solve this by running a seperate line/water hose to the heater rather than connecting it to my campers water lines. And, it is senstive to the LP pressure in the tank. If the tank gets too low, the pressure is not enough to permit ignition.

After having a Paloma for about 3 years and having nothing but problems with it(scalding hot or shuts off, pilot light wouldnt stay lit, etc,)it finally crapped out all together, so I bought this one and so far, I have no issues, it came with every thing I needed to install it and it works great,no pilot to light and perfect temp. I live in Hawaii so I dont need my water too hot but it will get much hotter if needed. The price scared me a little because I thought it might be just a cheap unit but it seems very well built. Reading the reviews is what really sold me though. I wish I had read the reviews on the Paloma before buying it.

No Warranty, not expected to last more than a few months. This hot water heater continually stops working due to low water pressure, valve adjustments and other various issues. You can never count on it to consistently work. We have called the Eccotemp and always found them helpful to tell us how to fix it temporarily - but the malfunctioning always continues. Just wanting consistent hot water for our family of four, this has turned into a sad hobby for us - keeping the thing working and taking cold showers were not what we wanted. Unfortunately neither Amazon nor Eccotemp will honor returns or refunds with this unit that has no warranty.
