Editorial Reviews

When The Cannons Roar, Few Will Survive!

Based on the manga by Saito Takao (Golgo-13)
Directed by Masuda Toshio (Tora! Tora! Tora!)
Starring the legendary Ishihara Yujiro (Incident at Blood Pass)

Those cold-blooded ninja-nailing killers-for-hire are back, and bloodier than ever!

"Echo of Destiny," the kinetic second film in the Shadow Hunters saga, is a tale rich in intrigue, betrayal and gory death. Retained by a great daimyo to escort an illegal cannon to safety, the three "Shadow Hunters" must carve their way through a legion of ninjas (and more of those sexy female assassins) in order to complete their commission.

Animeigo has released the second Shadow Hunters film which picks up on the exploits of our three killers as they try and help a village move a cannon to the other side of a mountain. Trechery and death are at every turn, and the final fight at the riverbank is worth the price of admission not to mention one shadow hunter who is bathing in a hot spring and is set upon by Ninja women who seem to have misplaced their clothes, but not their swords. Then our hero's enter a peaceful village which is anything but, and death lurks in the shadows as they soon find out. Echo of Destiny is filled with comedy, and gory bloodshed. Order it now!

I cannot say that this sequel is better than the original because not all the fights were perfect and the story was kind of lame.

But it has MORE action than the first movie, more fights, more shooting, more blood, more stunts, more violence and the two other main characters that didn't fight enough in the original movie fight even more this time.

Echoes of Destiny is a most buy for any action-packed fan but don't expect a GREAT concept like in the original movie.

Adios.

While not being an exceptional film, it has its moments. A deep story plot is balanced by fantastic fight scenes
