Echo Valley Illuminarie Dragonfly Stake

While the dragonfly stake is pretty, we are very disappointed that it does not live up to the product description which says that it glows in the dark, our main reason for making the purchase. We placed the stake in the sunniest part of our garden, which has sun all morning and day long, and it does not glow at all. We also purchased the butterfly stake, and it unfortunately does not glow in the dark either.

The dragonfly does not look like the picture. When I got the stake, the wings of the dragonfly were bent and seem flimsy. The metal is quite thin. I carefully bent the wings back into position and nothing broke off, so that is a good thing. Unfortunately, I bought several Echo Valley products because I liked the look of them and thought they would be fun additions to my garden. I understood that they were not solar powered lights and that they just had luminarie paint on glass, but I thought the glow-in-the-dark look would be different from the solar powered lights I already have. I put them in one of my gardens that gets full sun for at least eight hours a day. And yet, even with full sun on the most glorious of days, at night there is nothing. You have to get right up on top of them to even notice that there is something there trying to glow. I will not be buying anymore Echo Valley products and I am sorry for the ones I did purchase. For the price, they are certainly a rip-off. Do not waste your money!

I bought this as a gift and they loved it. Nice construction; glass topper was beautiful and glowed in dark. Would consider buying another for myself or as a gift. Extremely pleased with entire transaction.

Dragonfly started rusting after one summer of being outdoors. Expensive for not being perfect for a longer period of time.

I bought the Dragonfly stake for my mother this past Christmas. She has a green thumb and enjoys sitting in her sunroom and looking into her backyard. I thought this would be perfect as something to see in the evening. My mother was so excited when she opened it for Christmas, however the small marble ball that rests on top of the larger ball was rolling around in the box because it had come unattached during shipment. But we were able to secure it back on and decided it wasn't that big of a deal. However, I just asked her about it today and she told me that it has never glowed in the dark. She has placed it in several areas of the yard, and made sure to put it into the sunniest spots and it has never glowed. That's extremely disappionting to me, especially because this is a gift. The biggest reason I bought this was because of its glow in the dark feature. I feel like I should recieve a replacement ... that glows!

I bought this as a gift, and it was very well received. Sort of wish I had one for myself too, since it looked very nice!
