5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely Fascinating!
Managed to find a set of 4 of these (two moons and two suns)for sale at Costco for $30 last year. Anyone who knows anything about solar LED lights knows a single LED bulb is not going to light up your backyard. Went ahead and bought these knowing they were for decoration only and not meant to light up a path. I installed these in a flower bed a year ago and they are still...

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing
As a garden ornament is is adequate.
Unfortunately, as far as it 'illuminating' it does not.
It is in full sun all day long and at night there is nothing
around it but a small landscape light and still it does not
glow. I called company and they said to move it to where it
would be in total darkness at night. Done. Still doesn't work,...

The 'companion' piece that we ordered was the Saturn Stake.
They tried to mail it to me two times but both times it broke
in transit and carrier just sent it back to Amazon. I decided
I'd had enough and choose not to try to reorder this one and
get my $ back as the first wasn't glowing.

2.0 out of 5 stars Lovely, but certainly not "illuminating", May 28, 2008
This review is from: Echo Valley Illuminarie Moon Stake (Lawn & Patio)
This is lovely. It looks delightful in the garden. But, as a previous reviewer noted, it absolutely does not glow in the dark. Not even a little bit. Our garden receives full sunlight all day; at night it is completely dark. (We live in a rural area; there is no light from neighbors or other sources.) Given these conditions, if an item can glow in the dark, it should. Yet this most certainly does not.

I did try the old glow-in-the-dark test of bringing it into a closet (in the middle of the day, after several hours of very bright direct sunlight) and closing the door. The only thing that glowed was the old Timex I was wearing...

Buy this as a pretty lawn/garden ornament. Just do not expect it to glow in the dark at all.

Also, mine was packaged very well and survived shipping with no issues at all. It was well-protected, with a multitude of bubble wrap, air packs, packing peanuts, and filler paper -- not to mention a box-within-a-box arrangement. I think the UPS truck would have had to actually run over the thing to do it any damage. I ordered from Amazon, so Amazon is to thank for most of the hyper-vigilant packaging -- but, to be fair, the manufacturer's packaging was quite adequate to begin with.

2.0 out of 5 stars size of item Do not know if it illimuates yet, July 20, 2009

I cannot believe how small this top of the item is for price that I paid. I do not know if it evens illuminates yet for I just received it today and put in the fgarden Rediculous for the price. Also, the company has not gotten back to me about my comment and I sure they do not answer other peoples comments. What a shame. The packaging was not good because the box that it cam in was fully open. How can Amazon sell such a item.

Too pricey for the size of the product, guess I didn't pay attention to the measurements or I would not have ordered.

Anyone who knows anything about solar LED lights knows a single LED bulb is not going to light up your backyard. Went ahead and bought these knowing they were for decoration only and not meant to light up a path. I installed these in a flower bed a year ago and they are still going strong. A switch on the bottom of the battery compartment/solar collector lets you turn them off. I just leave them on all the time. I'm still fascinated everytime I see them. They continually change color dimming and brightening as they change from red to blue and then green. I only wish I had bought another set when they were available. Would I pay $30 each for these? Hell no. Look for them on sale somewhere.

3.0 out of 5 stars small, December 20, 2010
This review is from: Echo Valley Illuminarie Moon Stake (Lawn & Patio)
This item is very small. It came double boxed and I was decieved by this into thinking it was a decent size. I have tried it out in the garden yet to see if it glows, but I think that the price was definetly too high for the size.

Fun to watch but not illuminating at all. BUT....I bought a set of 4 from Costco for $25. I wanted to replace two defective ones but this price is beyond ridiculous.

The biggest $40.00 rip off ever. Does not glow. The picture is misleading, very small. I DO NOT recommend the Echo Valley Illuminarie Moon Stake to anyone.
