I used this with a 6" globe even though it said it was for 8-12" (it would work with them, too). It fit great. It is much sturdier than I expected and is a very good buy for the money. The picture shows it with the a globe sitting in it (you can just see the lower part of it), which I mention just to clarify that it is not part of the stand. In short, it's versatile, well-made, and inexpensive.
