Excellent music to have at work or relaxing of an evening.
Adam Dillard
Ambient music that while you listen to it, you could close your eyes and see yourself on the shores of the Nile while contemplating the beauty of the desert.

This is one of the most, enchanting and 'full' cds I have ever listened to.

Wow...what a wonderful journey you embark upon with this cd!

This is one of the most, enchanting and 'full' cds I have ever listened to. The cover art on this cd is AMAZING! If you would like to see a pic, I will email you one, my email is in the 'about me' section.

There are only five songs on this cd, most are over 12 minutes long...so you get your money's worth.

Here is a breakdown of the songs:

1. The Secret Chamber-(14:44 long) This is my fave on the cd...

Makes me think of myself being an explorer of Egypt, and I happen upon a "secret chamber" and see all the tomb paintings and the hieroglyphs on the walls, and as I read the ancient words I am transported back in time. Awesome...simply awesome!

2.The River and the Sun-(14:47 long) Diane Arkenstone captured the essence and the life force of Egypt perfectly...the River (the Nile) is the life of Egypt..and you can almost see in your mind's eye a barge floating down it with several rowers and the Pharaoh himself seated upon a throne of Gold..or maybe Cleopatra lounging with Anthony...along the river banks the people of Egypt gathering papyrus reeds to make paper! Good music!

3.Seduction-(5:52 long) The shortest song on here, you can picture

a lovely,Egyptian girl dancing for her Gods or for her Pharaoh. Lovely...good beat!

4.The Temple of Isis-(14:33 long) This is a very breathy and enchating song...puts me in mind of the ceremonies to Isis and you can just picture the procession of worshipers going to her temple to pray and give sacrifice to the Goddess...maybe in the evening seeing two lovers stealing away for a forbidden rendezvous inside the sanctuary...I love the ambient vocals on this. Makes your imagination run wild!

This 3rd Adventure Cargo album, produced by Diane and David Arkenstone, is the best Adventure Cargo release so far in this series. A mix of contemporary New Age/World sounds combined with traditional Egyptian rhythms and instrumentation has made it one of the most captivating albums by far. There are only 5 tracks on the CD, with 4 of the 5 are between 12-15 minutes in length. Each track is uniquely beautiful and exotic. There are some vocals, and they blend in very nicely with the enchanting music. I have always been fascinated by the Egyptian culture and artifacts. The CD covers of this album feature some very beautiful artworks of various Egyptian artifacts, and a lovely written passage by Diane Arkenstone. Pick up the CD, you won't be disappointed. It is highly recommended! Also, look for "African Skies" and "Spirits of the Rainforest", they are fantastic albums as well.

The latest offering from the Arkenstones is the best one yet in this new soundscape. The orchestration and choice of instruments and traditional rhythms blend nicely with the new age sounds. I'm planning a trip to Egypt in May and this is on constantly as I do my pre-travel research and it fits in so well with how I imagine it will be. I think if you are a fan of thematic soundscapes, you will not be disappointed. There are no vocals which as you know, can sometimes be a distraction.

David and Diane Arkenstone never disappoint, and Echoes of Egypt will amaze you. The fairer half of this truly gifted musical couple has outdone herself with this richly woven tapestry of evocative rhythms, mesmerizing melodies and flowing moods. Within thirty seconds, The Secret Chamber will have you hooked, drawing you into a cinematic experience like no other. Bold vistas, colorful celebrations, temples filled with whirling dancers, the marvels of past made present-these images and much more will blossom within your mind. If you don't find yourself rocking to the beat (or at least tapping your foot), you're not alive. Before you know it, 62 minutes will have gone by and you'll find yourself pressing play again. Too bad I can't give Echoes of Egypt more than 5 stars.

My advice: Buy it!

I love "Egyptian" thematic music, have since a teen when I played a KING'S QUEST game, and it had that warbling, thrillingly exotic music playing as I wandered a desert. :)

I have since over the past 20 some years sampled dozens and dozens of albums that promised the same swaying, twirling dervish of the mind's eye, and a few have given me want I yearned for, yet many just felt too... fluffy pop... or not giving me that particular rhythm and soundscape I harken for. Well, if you are like me in this manner, then absolutely check out ECHOES OF EGYPT.

Then light some incense (mmm, Egyptian Musk), sit back, and let the mental visage of distant sands, sunbaked bazaars, and wide open vistas take you away. This album is also available currently on the Amazon Prime Music program too. Yay!

Not to be confused with David Arkenstone (Diane's ex), The one thing I like especially about Diane is her subtle ability to transport the listener. Though her style has some similarities to David's...Diane has managed to produce her own captivating material in a unique form that can only be called her own.
I believe Diane did a wonderful job with the "Cargo" series and this one is especially my favorite. The music is designed to procure a form of "In a land far away..." meditative experience. Enabling your mind to inhabit the surroundings, sounds and general atmosphere of Ancient Egypt. I think, this was succeeded quite well in my opinion. I hope some who might be "On the fence" give it a try and see for themselves what I mean. Cheers!
